Jinzo flipped up to an attack

StRiKe_NiNjA

Dimension Shift Ninja
If Player1 Jinzo is flipped face-up due to an attack by Player2's Berserk Gorilla, during the Damage Step, Player2 may still activate Trap cards such as Covering Fire because Jinzo Contiuos Effect isn't applied yet.

Correct?

Not really. Once "Jinzo" is flipped in Damage Sub-Step 2, his effect will be Active because has a Continuous Effect, so neither player can activate Trap cards when this happens, and all face up Trap Cards is negated.

Please refer to my Battle Phase article for more info.

Berserk Gorilla has a Continuous Effect, yet Berserk Gorilla isn't destroyed during during the damage calculation by Berkserk Gorilla's own effect because it's effect isn't being applied until the resolve effects portion of the damage step.

Also when Spirit Reaper is flipped face-up due to an attack, and Thunder Nyan Nyan is face-up on the field along being that it is a Continuous Effect, isn't destroyed until the resolve effects portion of the damage step.

because

well because jinzo says as long as this card is face up so when ever it is fase up dosent matter how it is summond it will actvate its effect

the only reason beserk gorilla rules is that way is because it has to be in defence and it does not say as long as this card is face up

so more or less jinzo has a stronger effect

more or less faster

just simple if you know how to read cards (like read betwen the lines)

I was implying that if Berserk Gorilla was flipped face-up in defense mode due to an attack.

ok

yes i know this but you got to think out side the box man you see jinzo says as long as this card remanes face up

the gorilla dont and pluse it had to have special rules made for it because it did not say what to do if it was attacked face down

jinzo is simple on the other hand once he is fac up his effect takes place because he is know face up on the field dosent matter when he or how he is summond just so long as he is face up (even from attacks)

thus leading to my conclusion (the gorilla does not say as long as this card is face up)

And plus, just because a card doesn't state, "As long as this card remains face-up on the field" doesn't mean that monsters that don't contain that text isn't a continuous effect monster.

i am not aplying that gorrilas effect is not contunes i am simply saying since jinzo planely states it (as long as this card is face up ) it actvates as soon it is face up and since the gorilla does not state that they had to make a special rule even tho his effec is contunes

really the reason behind this is this when you attack a face down gorilla damage couclation has to occer because ane time you attack a monster dammage couclation has to be aplied but if you actvated gorillas effect as soon as he is fliped(dammage step) then he would die and nothing would happen no dammage calutaion no nothion it would be like they never attacked and you cant half attack something because damage coulation is a part of attacking (unless by the help of magic or trap)

so you see the reason jinzo and gorilla is differnt, not just because of jinzo saying as long as this cars remanes face up but because caluation can still be aplied even if he actvated his effect but if goeilla actvated his effect then he would die and not dammage coulation and you got to have that when you attack a monster or there would be no point in attacking because say you had a big ban shock equiped to the attacking monster or fairy metor crush ext

i am not saying that it has to be caluation no matter what but the only way to stop damage caluation is by the effect of magic or traps and since there is nothing that states ane thing about stoping calutitation in the card than you cant stop it

Ok.

I found my answer.

If you have a face-up "Thunder Nyan Nyan" and your Set "Penguin Soldier" is attacked, when it is flipped face-up "Thunder Nyan Nyan" will be destroyed, before it can be targeted by the effect of "Penguin Soldier".

So basically she is not destroyed until the Resolve Effects portion of the Damage Step.

yes this is right on that topic i beleave because once a non light monster hit the field she dies and it world be imposible to bring out a moster in the damage step and even if you did then the caluation would still take place no mater if her effect actvated or not because the attack was not negated
