QUESTION:
If I activate Swords of Revealing Light and my opponent chains Mystical
Space Typhoon to it, the effect of flipping the monsters still carries
through but the attack prevention effect does not. Correct?
I have someone arguing that because MST resolves first and destroys the
Swords, neither effect occurs even though MST does not negate the
activation.

ANSWER:
The flipping effect still occurs because "Swords of Revealing Light" is a
Normal Spell Card. Destroying a Normal Spell Card does not negate its effect.
(Naturally the "This card remains face-up on the field for 3 of your
opponent's turns." effects disappears, and the "As long as this card
remains face-up on the field...." effect disappears as a result.)
And in case anybody ever asks you WHY "Swords of Revealing Light" isn't
a Continuous Spell Card, you now also have your answer: because if it was,
then the flipping effect would disappear too if it was destroyed in a chain.
