Let's say I use Polymerization then serial spell to make a fusion monster.
Now do I have to designate two new monsters or can I use the same monsters.
Basicaly if I have a dark magician and buster blader and fuse them with
Polymerization, then use Serial spell can I get 2 dark paladins or do I have
to perform a fusion using other monsters.
Also if one of those monsters are in my hand when copying Polymerization are
they discarded before I use them for the fusion thus negating the entire process?
Answer:
In order to get two "Dark Paladins" you would need two seperate sets of
Fusion Material monsters. So you would need 2 "Buster Bladers" and 2
"Dark Magicians." (One set for Polymerization, one set for Serial Spell)
When "Serial Spell" resolves it would copy "Polymerization's" effect and fuse
1 "Buster Blader" with 1 "Dark Magician" and Fusion Summon "Dark Paladin."
Then "Polymerization" would resolve and require its own "Buster Blader" and "Dark
Magician" for its own Fusion Summon. It will not use the same monsters
"Serial Spell" used.
If you discard 1 of the needed Fusion Material monsters in order to pay for
"Serial Spell," you've got a problem.
For example, say I have 2 "Dark Magicians" and 1 "Buster Blader" on the field.
In my hand I have 1 "Buster Blader," "Polymerization," and "Serial Spell."
I activate "Polymerization" and my opponent does not respond. I then activate
"Serial Spell," discarding "Buster Blader" from my hand to pay the cost.
Polymerization --> Serial Spell
"Serial Spell" resolves first, sending "Dark Magician" and "Buster Blader" to
my Graveyard and Special Summoning "Dark Paladin" from my Fusion Deck.
Next up is "Polymerization," but here is the problem: I no longer have
Fusion Material monsters that I can fuse into a Fusion Monster.
This is not good for "Polymerization." It cannot resolve, so its effect
disappears.
