First of all, Curtis - nice Elemental Hero article on Metagame - the Skyscraper issue came up last week, and I just want to verify one thing.
The ruling with Skyscraper is that if your opponent's monster gets stronger during damage calculation, then your Elemental Hero would get the 1000 attack point boost from Skyscraper, as with your example with Injection Fairy Lily.
Is it safe to extrapolate that the same thing happens when it's not your opponent's monster that gets stronger, but your Elemental Hero that gets weakened in the damage step?
Example:
Jaden declares an attack with his Elemental Hero Flame Wingman on Wheeler the Monkey's face-down defense mode monster. Jaden also has a Skyscraper on the field. Neither player has a response in the battle step, even though Wheeler the Monkey has one face down spell or trap card.
In the damage step, Wheeler the Monkey's face down monster is flipped face up to reveal it is Don Zaloog (1400/1500). Wheeler the Monkey (what a great name for a KaibaCorp experimental monkey...I'm sure Seto Kaiba had absolutely nooooooo role in picking that name lol), in the damage step, then activates his face down trap card, Mirror Wall.
Can we assume that this is the same scenario as the Injection Fairy Lily, just in reverse? That Flame Wingman would go down to 1050 attack points from the Mirror Wall, then Skyscraper adds 1000 to bring Flame Wingman back up to 2050 attack points?

Answer:
During damage calculation, "Skyscraper" will see that "Elemental Hero Flame Wingman's" halved ATK, (1050 thanks to Mirror Wall), is lower then "Don Zaloog's" 1400 ATK. Because of this, "Skyscraper" will apply its 1000 point increase.
