Yeah, but a little tweak to the frame and it is totaled. Looks like it just missed your bumper, too. That doesn't help. My wife used to be a Claims Adjustor and she has passed on a lot to me.
Isn't that weird? Just a little frame damage and it can be considered totaled. This is the first accident I've ever had, so it's odd to learn things I didn't yet know about insurance. Hopefully, though, we can get it fixed, instead of replaced.
Oh, yeah. But you don't want to mess with that. I bought a car in Guatemala once that had been totaled and when they went to straighten out the frame they didnt pull it completely out, so the bolt holes wouldn't align. Instead they just widened it a bit and welded it in place. What that meant was that they had to actually cut and weld a small piece into the middle of the axle to make it long enough to fit.
I still hate that car. A bent frame is a pain to deal with.
