What happend if one of the monsters tributed to summond Gilford the Lightning is Kaiser Seahorse? Does his effect gets activated or not?

I know I'm reviving a very old topic, but I guess it's better than making a new one.

Anyway, still curious whether densetsu_x's reply is still valid as there's a ruling under Kaiser Sea Horse stating:

[Re: Majestic Mech - Goryu] If you Tribute "Kaiser Sea Horse" to Normal Summon "Majestic Mech - Goryu" it is still only 1 monster being Tributed so its effect will activate during the End Phase and it will be sent to the Graveyard.

So would that mean that Tributing Kaiser Sea Horse and another monster would still count as 2 Tributes?

Kaiser Sea Horse counts as two Tributes. However it is physically still only one monster. Majestic Mech - Goryu does NOT state it can be Normal Summoned with 1 Tribute. It says it can be Normal Summoned by Tributing 1 monster. Kaiser Sea Horse is that one monster.

Unfortunately, you will not get the effect of Kaiser Sea Horse with Majestic Mech - Goryu.

If you Tribute "Kaiser Sea Horse" to Normal Summon "Majestic Mech "“ Goryu" it is still only 1 monster being Tributed so its effect will activate during the End Phase and it will be sent to the Graveyard.

You can use Kaiser Sea Horse as 1 of the two Tribute Monsters needed to Normal Summon (and keep) Majestic Mech - Goryu, though.

It's kind of like the ruling for Behemoth the King of All Animals.

"¢ If "The Trojan Horse" is Tributed to Tribute Summon "Behemoth the King of All Animals", you still only return 1 monster from the Graveyard to your hand, because it's the same number as the number of monsters you Tributed to perform the Summon.

Wow, that's a a strange one, seeing as the wording for Majestic Mech - Goryu and Gilford the Lightning are quite similar, i.e. they both mention "Tribute X monster(s)".

Thanks for clearing this up.
