Negative. King of the Swamps can only replace a Name, not a type. See the ruling for Chimeratech Overdragon:
• When you Fusion Summon this card you can use a substitute, such as "King of the Swamp", for the "Cyber Dragon", but not for the Machine-Type monsters. That means you can use a maximum of 1 substitute monster in the Fusion Summon.
And although YuGiOh! is no longer backed by UD America, Curtis wrote the following (back when he had authroity to so do):
Re: Fusion Substitute Monsters - Evil Hero Dark Gaia, Five-Headed Dragon, etc.
Answer: When Fusion Summoning "Five-Headed Dragon", Fusion Material substitute monsters like "King of the Swamp" cannot be used as a Fusion Material unless the Fusion Material substitute monster is face-up on the field and its type is being changed to Dragon-Type by a card like "DNA Surgery".
"Evil Hero Dark Gaia" shares a similar limitation. You cannot use the Fusion Substitute monster as "a substitute". You could only use it if its Monster Type satisfied one of the requirements. For example, you can use "Versago the Destroyer", but you will be using it because it is a Fiend-Type monster and not as "a substitute". "Superalloy Beast Raptinus" is also affected.
This is why "King of the Swamp" can replace "Cyber Dragon" when Fusion Summoning "Chimeratech Overdragon", but it cannot replace one of the Machine-Type monsters that are also required. [/COLOR] Curtis Schultz
