Magical dimension - Replay

My opponent attacks my skilled dark magician and I chain Magical dimension. I destroy my skilled dark magician and summon Gemini Elf. Does this trigger a replay?

The number of monsters on my side of the field did not change so that does not fit the replay rule. If a replay is not triggered, does that mean my opponent's attack is negated?

From the UDE FAQ for 'What is a replay?':

"A replay is triggered when an attack has been declared, and then during the attack a potential attack target appears or disappears."

Since an attack target, "Skilled Dark Magician", was removed and replaced with "Gemini Elf", a replay will occur.

"Magical Dimension" does not destroy your monster. It is Tributed.

Besides that, the number of monsters did change. There was one. Then there was none. Then there was one again (a different one at that).

Also, you can destroy your opponent's attacking monster after you Special Summon your new Spellcaster-type monster, so a replay is really the least of your worries.
