My opponent summons Magical Scientist, does not call priority, and pays 1000 Life. I chain to Scientist's effect with my Waboku, is he able to Special Summon Ryu Senshi, and pay 1000 Life to negate my Waboku?

no becuase ryu senshi would need to be on the field when waboku was activated and if your chaining it to magical scientist's effect then ryu senshi isn't on the field yet

Chain Link 1 Magical Scientist
Chain Link 2 waboku

resolve in reverse

Chain Link 2 Waboku resolves preventing att battle dmg from monsters on his side of the field till end of turn
Chain Link 1 Magical Scientist summons ryusenshi at this point waboku has already resolved and it is to late to negate it

........

yes you can

magical scientist is spell speed one and a chainable event

you re indeed permited to chain to a monster effect (as long as its not continous)

Before you attempt to try to insult someone, you may want to brush up on your rulings. As said by others, you can always respond/chain to a monster effect. This is true with Breaker's effect as well. So it would not be any different from responding/chainning to Magical Scientist's effect.

:mrgreen:you guys all forgot one thing: COSTS CANNOT BE NEGATED IN ANY WAYS, AND PAYING 1000 LIFE POINTS FOR MAGICAL SCIENTIST IS A COST, SO WABOKU CAN'T NEGATE THAT IF THATS WHAT YOU WERE TRYING TO DO. why do you think if you have jinzo on the field and imperial order you still have to pay life points each turn?

The cost and the effect of Magical Scientist are never negated. Obviously, Ryu Senshi will come.

Waboku is just activated before Ryu Senshi could appear and have the possibility of negating it.

That's all.

There was nothing happening in this conversation that indicated a negation of cost. The point of this conversation was to verify the chainability of a trap to the effect of Magical Scientist, which is a legal move.
