YuGiOh GX Enemy of Justice Single Card Super Rare Majestic Mech - Goryu EOJ-EN016

Card Name: Lightning Gear Golden Dragon
Card Number: EOJ-EN016
Card Set: Enemy of Justice
Card Rarity: Super Rare
Card Details: Light
PHP:
8 Stars
ATK/2900 DEF/1800
[Fairy/Effect]
This card can be Normal Summoned or Set with 1 Tribute Monster. In that case, send this card to Graveyard at End Phase of this turn. When this card attacks with an ATK greater than the DEF of a Defense Position monster, deal the difference as battle damage to your opponent's Life Points

i was wondering if this card would work in a [ycard="DCR-049"]Skill Drain[/ycard] deck because of the effect?

Im curious. The effect says to send it to the Graveyard during the End Phase of this turn. Does that mean that if Skill Drain is destroyed during a following turn (not the same one in which the monster was summoned), that it will remain on the field forever (barring other effects)?

Skill Drain only negates effects, not conditions or Maintenance Cost, which is why you must still tribute a monster for The Unfriendly Amazon and remove Spell Counters for Armor Exe.

I would have to question whether the portion about "sending to the Graveyard at End Phase is the "Cost", "Condition", or "Effect".

Yes, with Skill Drain, you can tribute 1 monster to tribute summon him, and this card won't be destroyed at the end phase or any other time as well. But it'll also negate it's pierce effect. So IMO, just stick with Fusilier unless you plan to destroy your own Skill Drain once you got that out. (Which is too much combo tricky not to mention destroying your own Skill Drain is counter-productive.)

hi, i had the same question again about majestic mech goryu and ohka..

could i use the both in skill drain deck because a friend told me the the card has a cost effect which is when it goes to the graveyard is this true??

Skill Drain will negate the "send to Graveyard" effects of Goryu, Ohka and Senku. You'll still be able to Summon Goryu and Ohka at their reduced costs, though (they're in the hand at the time), but now with none of the drawbacks!

You would lose Goryu's piercing ability, thats a drawback.

"¢ The effect of "Majestic Mech - Ohka" and "Majestic Mech - Goryu" that destroys itself will activate during the End Phase of every turn (if they were Normal Summoned with fewer Tributes by using their effect).

Does this mean that if you summon Ohka/Goryu using their effect, activate Skill Drain, and later Skill Drain is destroyed, then Ohka/Goryu will be destroyed?

"¢ If "Skill Drain" is active during the End Phase, it will negate the effects of a "Majestic Mech" so the "Majestic Mech" will not destroy itself.

With this ruling and the above ruling Entropy has mentioned, one can infer that the Majestic Mechs all have "memory" and will be destroyed during any End Phase as long as they were normal summoned with fewer tributes and Skill Drain is not active during those End Phases.

I believe the cost is how it is tribute summoned, the effect is the piercing ability and going to the graveyard at the end of the turn is the condition upon how long it stays on the field (ie: Skill Drain)

Re: Skill Drain
I think that as long as Skill Drain is on the field when the monster is summoned, it negates the condition and effect of the monster. So, the condition of going to the graveyard at the end of the turn refers to the turn the monster was summoned and would miss the timing of the condition with Skill Drain being active and would remain after the turn the card was summoned.

But I could be wrong...
