Mind Control vs. Polymerization/Fusion Gate

Well, with all the discussion of Mind Control and Fusion Gate and Polymerization going on, I thought it would be better to make this a new thread.

Mind Control's effect of stealing your opponent's monster, not being able to attack with it, and not being able to tribute it for anything is obvious, however....

Polymerization states "send", not tribute, and I believe Fusion Gate is the same way... could you steal one of your oponent's Fusion Material viable monsters with Mind Control, and be able to use Polymerization or Fusion Gate on it?

Pretty much what I want to know. Afterall, gotta make use of any loophole you can. I can see it being particularly useful for the first two I listed, especially vs. burn/stall.

I would like to know if you can use the effect of "Assault on GHQ" on a monster that was taken by "Mind Control"?

Player A has one monster on the field and nothing else.
Player B has has one card in the magic and trap zone and no monsters.

It's Player B's turn he/she play's "Mind Control" on player A's monster and then used "Assault on GHQ" on it.

I say it could be done, but I need to make sure.

Thank You

Assault on GHQ
"Select 1 monster on your side of the field to activate this card. Destroy the selected card and send 2 cards from the top of your opponent's Deck to the Graveyard."

Mind Control
"Take control of 1 monster on your opponent's side of the field until the End Phase. This monster cannot declare an attack or be Tributed."

Answer:

You certainly can.

Aha! All you naysayers of Mind Control's usefulness can now go put a brown paper bag on your heads. ;)

I'm glad to see this, it can make it infinitely useful in many deck types, where sometimes you just need the monser out of the way for a turn, or sometimes you want it gone for good, and you can use one of the above cards to do just that, and give you a little bit of a bonus to boot. Perhaps I shall pick up another couple of them, as I'm sure people would be glad to get rid of it for cheap, thinking "well gee, that's useless."

Don't you just love it when you get a great idea for a card that everybody thinks sucks? Then take all ther copies for virtually nothin' and flip it on them the next time you duel them.

Very very much so. It's not cheating them, because they really do think the card sucks. As soon as I bought the game, and went over the cards with my friend, we started thinking of all the possibilities for it. I still think its best use is stealing something face-down, particularly Magician of Faith.

Whew, you're awfully negative, aren't you? Random chances happen all the time, but that was just the one card that popped into mind quickly, so here, how about Mind Control plus these other cards that do not say tribute:

Altar for Tribute "send"
Assault on GHQ "destroy"
Reversal Quiz "send"
Rivalry of Warlords "send"[/QUOTE

it is possible activate a card when the efct cannot resolve?

example

player 1 has Rivalry of Warlords and chossed "warrior"

player 2 has a water type

player 1 wants to activate "minf control" to take control of the water type

it wouldnt be a ilegal activation?

i will metion the case Change of Heart versus Scapegoat where Change of Heart couldnt be activated because there were no placce on the field to put the monster that would be controled by Change of Heart

suggestions?
