this happened in a thread discussion

player 1 has morphing jar 2 face down and 1 monster face up

player 2 has 1 monster face down and magical hats face down

player 1 declares a atck

player 2 activate magical hats and select 2 non monsters cards from deck that will be placed face down and treated as monsters cards

player 1 them choose not atck; but instead he flip sumon MJ2

the question is

since the cards(spells or traps) transformed in monster cards by the efct of magical hats count for the resolution of MJ2?

player 2 will have to pick cards until he sumon 3 monsters? orr only 1 monster?

i will thanks for all imputs

The S/T cards would be destroyed at the end of the Battle Phase, so the opponent would only have the 1 monster left on the field, 1 monster sent back to the deck, and need to pick up cards until 1 monster is picked up.

i see

i wonder

if player 2 had MJ 2 face down instead?

them when player 1 declares a actk , if he manage to batlle MJ 2 , THEM the cards were suposed to return to deck BEFORE the end of the batlle pahse

so i ask

player 2 will pick how many cards?

a- 2 cards

b- zero cards

c- 3 cards

thanx for the answer dentetsu

If Morphing Jar #2 is attacked while the "Magical Hat Monsters" are on the field, the the "Magical Hat Monsters" will be considered as Monster Cards, shuffled into the deck as if they were monsters, and that player would have to pick up additional monsters equal to the number of "Magical Hats Monsters" plus his/her actually Monster Cards that were shuffled into the deck. This is because the "Magical Hats Monsters", although you may know that they in truth are actually spells/traps, are in the Monster Card Zone of the playing field and are considered as actual monsters much like the way monster tokens are used. The reason these "Magical Hats Monsters" are actually shuffled back into the deck is because, unlike tokens that are removed from play, they are actual playing cards out of that person's deck.

I hope that made sense, and that it helped a little.

If Player 2 had a face down 'Morphing Jar #2' and Player 1 attacks, then Player 2 activates 'Magical Hats', Player 2 would now have 3 face down monsters on the field.

If Player 1 attacks again and happens to pick the 'Morphing Jar #2' then, then only the two face down "non-monster" cards would go back to Player 2's deck and Player 2 would then get to pick up cards until two monsters have been picked up and then special summon the Level 4 and lower 'eligible' monsters to the field face down, since according to 'Magical Hats', the face down "non-monster" cards are treated as Monster cards for the duration of the Battle Phase.

If Player 1 attacks one of the face down "non-monster" cards, then the other "non-monster" card would be destroyed at the end of the battle phase, since Player 1 only had one eligible monster to attack with.

If player 1 does not choose to attack, but instead move on to Main Phase 2, then both of the "non-monster" cards would be destroyed at the end of the battle phase.

Hope that helps.
