Morphing Jar TP2-001

Again, another great card. Both you and your opponent discard your hand and then both draw 5 cards. Granted, it's not good to give your opponent a lot of cards, this is great for disrupting them when you know they have something good, replenishing your own hand, as well as comboing with "Magical Thorn".

It's also useful for when you set it, "Creature Swap" it, set everything else you have, and then attack it or activate "Swords of Revealing Light". You get a new hand, and they lose what they had.

It's effect is similar to what "Card of Sanctity" should have been. It's also a speedy version of "Mirage of Nightmare". It's not a card meant for every deck (esp. being restricted to 1 again), but it can provide good control and disruption when you may need it the most.

well at least the jar is 2 pot of greed and a half when you got no hand (or a discardable hand like Thunder Dragons, Night Assailants and Sinister Serpents)

It IS a pretty good card. Quite expensive as well... for now at least. The artwork is the creepiest among the jars. It always reminds me of that maniacal laugh they used for it the dub version of the anime.

In certain cases I definitely would want to use this jar instead of a cyber jar.

I would use both if I had them, but if I had to choose I prefer Cyber Jar over this one because you don't have to set your whole hand.

Tell me about it. Then when you do set entire hand, your opponent use harpy's feather duster, heavy storm, giant trundae or some other card that would make your effort of saving your hand in vain.

Besides not having to set your entire hand, cyber jar can save you getting creamed by the various monsters your opponent has on the field. (assuming none can't negated flip effects)

I like Morphing jar because to me its another Painful choice I can use. Granted, I would still set all magic and trap and hope to God that the opponent either doesn't attack or destroy my set S/T cards. I like using painful choice in combination with premature burial and giant trunade. And for my archfiend deck it can be terrible if cyber jar gets flipped on my opponents turn.

Like most hard to find cards I get hold off I would sell Morphing Jar for around £70 and use the money I can use to get some cards I need even more.

I'd do the same thing. I like shiny cards and all but I buy/trade to use them. If I got a morphing jar or the like from a pack, I too would sell it to get more needed cards.

I was just wondering. If you Creature Swapped Morphing Jar to your opponents side of the field and then attacked it, would the effect still be classed as your own or would it be classed as an effect activated by your opponent? Only reason I ask is that I am wondering how it would resolve in a situation where you had Goldd or Sillva in your hand, would you get the second effect if you gave your Morphing Jar to your opponent even though Morphing Jar goes back to your graveyard.

Hehe, that was a classic question that came up as soon as the Dark Worlders were released. Since the MJ was controlled by your opponent when flipped, the discard effect is considered your opponent's effect. As such, if a Goldd or Sillva was discarded due to MJ, it would be "their" effect causing the discard, so you would get the secondary effects of them. Interestingly enough, this is why Dark Deal makes for some interesting nastiness 8^D
