The current most popular and the best pull of the new McDonald GX promotion. You can get this by buying a Kid/Happy Meal or like a Toy. Anyway, among the 20 card, this is considered the best right now and one of the new hottest Dragons. (Man, what's with the dragon fad these recent months in USA, is Kaiba secretly controlling the USA Konami division?)
Anyway, another Dragon, and another kickass effect that people have been waiting for. (No, it's not like "the best dragon ever" in Japan we never got. There are better Dragon monsters in Japan OCG that we still don't got)
Anyway, let's see the stuff of this new Dragon.
Effect Monster
Dark / Dragon / Level 6
ATK 2200 / DEF 1400
When this card is Normal Summoned or Special Summoned, select up to 5 Spell Cards from your opponent's Graveyard and remove them from play. Increase the ATK of this card by 300 points for each card removed from play by this card's effect.
------------
Now, first the stat. It's a level 6, meaning it's a 1 tribute monster. And for a 1 tribute monster, it's original stat is 2200ATK... barely over the "cyber dragon" mark. Not to mention it not high enough to stomp over Monarch/Jinzo... YET... and 1400DEF isn't too bad.
Now the effect. When you normal or special summon, you remove upto 5 spell cards from opponent's graveyard and then gain 300x of spells removed. So the effect is just gaining lifepoint. Well, although the maximum attack of 3700ATK beatstick IS sweet... it's still a 1 tribute monster. Unless you special summon it, it's not too good since it's not instant +1 or card advantage/trade-off, etc. like the Monarchs are.... but this card is not that bad even if it doesn't have instant +1 card advantage.
The good things about this card.
#1: HIGH ATK. the potential 3700ATK beatstick can kill ANYTHING in today. Not even Injection Fairy Lily can't kill this. And Stein is banned in USA so no Cyber End. Pretty much the only way to destroy this as a result of battle is either Enemy Controller into DEF, or your foe uses Limiter Removal on their Cyber Dragon or something. That's pretty good.
#2: You remove SPELL CARDS from your foe's graveyard. This might not be much, but it does kill the 1 card that EVERYBODY runs. And that is Magician of Faith. I mean, to utterly turn that flipper wonder into a 300ATK normal vanilla crap monster is just BEAUTIFUL. And especially in a world where we got Apprentice Engine running around EVERYWHERE and they just keep Graceful/Pot of Avarice their Apprentice engine over and over can be pretty much be killed by this 1 card. (Not just Graceful/Pot, we can get rid of other annoying Spells like Heavy/MST/NoC/Premature/etc. oh man the list can go forever) Man, if we had this card during the days when you are allowed to run 2x MoF... we would be seeing this card in sidedecks ALOT more often then now. But still, this card is a potential killer against anybody who have MoF, and especially Apprentice Engine.
#3: It's a Dark that's 2200ATK. That means it's Deck Devastation Virus Time. And that's always good.
#4: It's a Dragon. And being a Dragon means you can always use Future Fusion and Dragon's Mirror on this monster for Five-Headed Dragon. And using Future Fusion to dump this monster from deck to grave, and then using Premature/CotH is just beautiful of summing a huge beatstick and killing their MoF into crappy card. I mean, a potential 3700ATK beatstick means it's overall better then even Blue-Eyes White Dragon. That's a LV8 monster so if it's stuck in your hand... that BAD. This card is a LV6, so the chances of being a dead card is ALOT less. So it's a LV6 Dragon that's potentially stronger then even BEWD... yeah, DEFINATELY good. Seriously, F.G.D. Dragon decks that runs BEWD should just dump their BEWD and replace them all with THIS card. This way, you don't have to bother with Kaibaman/White Paladin/etc. and it's potentially a higher ATK monster then BEWD that's only a 1 tribute Monster. I mean, WHY would you run BEWD over this monster? I say NO. This monster is CLEARLY a much smarter choice. Higher ATK and Magician of Faith killer.
--------
Overall, it's definately for a Dragon deck. And in a Dragon deck, it's a good card since everybody runs MoF in their deck. So it's anti-MoF which is good, and a high beatstick dragon monster. And it combos well with Future/Mirror like I said. That's all the value to it so use this in a dragon deck only IMO.
In the end, I give this card a
7/10
It would have been nicer if they gave this card during the days of 2x MoF with Tsukuyomi running havoc. Well, at least it's still a good anti-Apprentice monster.
