Hi, all. Looking for some feedback regarding a Fire Princess burn deck I drafted.

Updated 04/01/07
Total cards = 45

Level 5-6 (3)
3 x Marie the Fallen One

Level 1-4 (13)
3 x Fire Princess
3 x Cure Mermaid <---Should I switch these for 3 x White Magician Pikeru
3 x Dancing Fairy
1 x Mask of Darkness
1 x Magician of Faith
1 x Sangan
1 x Injection Fairy Lily

Spells (16)
2 x Messenger of Peace
2 x Heart of Clear Water
2 x Wave-Motion Cannon
2 x Mask of Restrict
2 x Nightmare's Steelcage
1 x Level Limit - Area B
1 x Swords of Revealing Light

1 x Pot of Avarice
1 x Scapegoat
1 x Lightning Vortex
1 x Mystical Space Typhoon

Traps (13)
2 x Dust Tornado
2 x Solemn Wishes
2 x Life Absorbing Machine
2 x Bottomless Trap Hole
2 x Judgment of Anubis
2 x Fairy Box
1 x Gravity Bind

The deck is aimed for two main win-conditions: a) burn through Fire Princess and b) having the healing cards fuel Injection Fairy Lily. If need be, the Dancing Fairy cards can provide a minimal amount of beatdown ability, though I won't be relying too much on that.

Heart of Clear Water is obviously to keep the Fire Princess alive.

I'm also considering bringing in Mask of Restrict to stave off Mobius and Jinzo.

One immediate weakness I can see are from cards like Mataza the Zapper and Legendary Ocean beatdowns.

Any form of constructive feedback is welcomed.

I understand what your goal is here but a few things...

1 Magician of Faith is limited to one copy per deck

2 It seems you could find a better recursion monster than Shining Angel since the only other monster it can special summon other than another copy of itself is a face up Magician of Faith

3 Give Mysterious Puppeteer a go, I think you'll find it works very nicely with Fire Princess as well as comboing with Heart of Clear Water. It also works well with spirit monsters such as Maharaghi, Inaba White Rabbit.

4 If you're going to play 3 copies of Marie The Fallen One and want to speed up your deck to get to your bind cards Card Destruction will help with both purposes as well as fueling Pot of Avarice.

5 Lava Golem in the side deck might be a nice addition. With your bind cards it will increase the burn and double as monster elimination.

6 Another wonderful side deck card for a burn deck is Maryokutai of which I play one copy of in most of my bind decks.

7 Side deck S/T removal. One of the quickest ways I've ever had a burn deck be beat is by my opponent siding in burn, especially 3 copies of Wave Motion Cannon which I had absolutely NO solution for in a similar deck.

8 Dark Room of Nightmare is too slow to justify being in the deck. You'd be much better off with other burn cards.

9 A single copy of Cannon Soldier is always a good idea to finish off an opponent.

10 With your deck being trap heavy a copy of Mask Of Darkness might be a good possibility.

11 Include a copy of Torrential Tribute or Lightning Vortex. You're going to need at least one (if not both) for mass monster removal if you wish to be even semi-consistant in winning with this deck.

Wow, cool~! 11 things to fix then. XD I'll have a go at your suggestion while on the train to Liverpool.

Thanks muchies.

Made some changes... and the deck size has gone up to 50.... help? >_<

The deck is really big...You'll definitely want to slim it down some, IMO.

Nothing like drawing a handful of S/T, none of which are extremely useful.

For example, with so many stall cards (two each of GB, MoP, Fairy Box, and LLAB), there isn't really much need for two Saks AND a Mirror Force.

Fairy Box, in itself, is unreliable since it depends on a coin flip. I don't think you totally need Life Absorbing Machine. I see where you want to combo it with Injection Fairy Lily, but I think that combo needs a deck unto itself to be truly effective.

So...removing the Saks, Mirror, Fairy Boxes, and Life Absorbings will lower your overall deck count by seven in the S/T area.

Now, as far as Monsters go....

Nimble Momonga is great for thinning your deck and gaining life....when he's destroyed. With your deck as it is, you're going to be the one having to attack with Nimble to get the effect off, and while it works in getting off Fire Princess' effect, you will often lose more life than you gain.

A possible replacement is White Magician Pikeru.

Well, that's my input. Buh bye.

uhm, both gravity bind and level limit - area b are restricted to 1. SoRL and nightmare's steelcage are both stall cards that usually give enough time to draw other stall cards. you have a lot of good cards that increase your lp, but i noticed that when i ran a similar deck to this, it doesn't really get rid of your opponents monsters. i ran some "swarm of scarabs" cards during stalls to destroy unwanted monsters on my opponents field. you may also want to consider "wall of revealing light" seeing as it is a good investment (which could replace the sarketsu armors/life absorbing machines) because it is a more stabalized defense.

I also agree to the card count, it's a bit much. I had my fire princess count down to 44 and it was still pretty hard to draw fire princess.

Well, good luck. hope this helped some.

Hm, thanks nelmorr13 and Buzzter for the insight(s).

I knew the deck needed thinning, just didn't know what to send off. But good point on the Nimble Momongas.

The point of me running Life Absorbing Machine with Fairy Box and Messenger of Peace was to gain extra heals per turn, seeing as the card heals each cost separately.
