We'll start with the next set out, Marvel Knights. I personally believe this is the weakest point of the year. Marvel Knights? I mean, I love Punisher, Daredevil, Elecktra, etc. as much as the next guy, but I don't think they deserve a set this early in the game. Rather, with the next set for DC being Green Lantern, it would be best for UDE to release a Marvel set focused around a similar type of character: Iron Man. Iron Man has been done a great injustice for a while in Heroclix (until Ultimates, that is), and there is so much about him that you could do an Iron Man/Mandarin set.
Next up, around May, we'll have Green Lantern. I cannot wait for thise, mainly because the GL is my favorite comic book hero of all time. I see the makeup of the GL team very simple....you'll have multiple lanterns due to the naming system. For example, you'll get Hal Jordan <> Green Lantern, Jon Stewart <> Green Lantern, etc. I really hope that UDE doesn't make it into an equipment based team, kinda like what Gotham Knights are, because equipment has still not found a viable place on a whole in the metagame. I have great expectations for this set, and I want to see them fulfilled.
In September, we finally get The Avengers. A complimentary team for this set will probably be Masters of Evil, and it will probably be the best Marvel set since Origins. There are so many Avengers, you don't need multiple versions of any of them; I predict a large late-game focus for the Avengers, and perhaps power in numbers.
To cap off the year in November, we get my most anticipated set yet, the Justice League. I sincerely hope they don't mess this up at all, but a very important choice will have to be made: Go with original seven, with others to supplement the drops, or open it up like the Unlimited series? I see a blend between the Spider-Friends and Titans, which will promote both team attacks and defensive prowess.
This year has the looks to be even better than the last. Let's hope it comes true.
