Hello my two cents is to switch out the Big tusked Mammoths for something better like a second Manticore for one. There isn't a lot of great tribute beasts to choose from but 2 Manticores and 1 Behemoth King is plenty although you could throw in a
Jinzo if you have it he pretty much goes in any deck other than burn type. Also, leave out 2-Milus and 1 berzerk in favor of 3
Vorse Raiders Beast Warrior type. Also take out the
Des Wombat in favor of a third Mad Dog.
When you get them of course.
Cutting back on tribute monsters is the first step when restructuring a kids deck, I've found .
I help run a local kids tournament here in Arlington and convincing them to put aside Blue Eyes or
Dark Magicians can be difficult.
Ultimately, I wind up asking them if they would prefer to play their favorites or if they would rather win.
9 out of 10 say they want to win. and of the Kids decks I have changed not one has complained after actually using it.
In fact I put together a deck for a couple of the moms to play their sons and 1 boy came back mad at me and said "You made my Mom's deck better than mine" LOL
Still some kids have die hard favorites and you just have to go with them. After awhile they see the other kids decks that win consistantly and they start converting there own decks and as they get better they come up with ideas that are better than mine. I really have to stay on my game to beat the kids at our store. Some of the 7 and 8 year olds are tournament ready and I mean Adult tournament ready.
Anyway back on point by taking out some tributes you eliminate things like
Tribute Doll and free up space for extra kills like
Smashing Ground, or
Lightning Vortex and extra power ups like
Rush Recklessly or
Axe of Despair. these are examples you can use what you have and what you like
Fissure,
Mask of Weakness
also fall into this catagory.
Ground Collapse should probably go aswell if you can get them
Torrential Tribute or
Magic Cylinder would be much better alternates
I would also, take out the 2
Gaia Power(and or Terra Forming) in favor of things that help just you and not your opponent. I have an earth deck and that was the first thing to go for me. For one it's not a good top deck when you have no hand.
At this point taking them and the
Tribute Doll straight out cuts you to 41 cards and your deck will flow and kill faster.
An easy to find card that is under used and under appreciated is
Bait Doll you should consider exchanging that for the
Nobleman of Extermination.
It springs a trap and
recycles itself meaning after it does it's business it goes back in your deck instead of your graveyard.
Hope these suggestions help.
Tweaking a deck is a players arena - meaning the more you play a deck, you get to see what works /what works for you. Cards can have a neat effect but if you never use it what's the point?
Bottom line test anything people tell you before you trade cards away you might decide you needed or wanted.
