My Trap Deck

You call this a Trap Deck!!?? ;)

Actualy, I run 28 traps in my main deck. But I don't consider my deck just for fun. I've won more games with it than any other deck I've tried.

If you want to see a Trap Deck, wait till Shadows of Infinity comes out. You could make a Trap Deck based around Uria.

I like to see your deck list for it.

The problems I see with this Deck are:

  • Too many Trap Cards
  • Too little monsters
  • Monsters that cannot survive in battle without Trap Cards
See what I think you wanted to do from the Dream Clown was make an interesting Deck with that strategy. People can laugh at someone using Dream Clowns or Blade Rabbit, until they realize how nasty that Deck built around them can be. Also, someone with a Royal Decree in their Main or Side Deck would quickly put an end to that Deck of yours. If you want to make a Trap Deck, find out what type of Trap Deck you want. Then you will find the right Trap Cards for it instead of just putting Trap Cards you think are great in any other Deck.

Believe it or not, this deck so far is 4-1 scense it has been remade. the amount of 10 monster works alot better then most people would think. And for Royal Decree, I am not worried about it. so far every time it came up, I got rid out it.

Royal Decree just isn't the game finisher people make it out to be. Its an extrodinarily weak version of Jinzo in trap form. Whcih means, you'll hear people ask "what are going to do in the event of Royal Decree?" but then you look at people's deck lists and nobody is even attempting to run it. Not even in thier YVD Decks where they have access to every card in the game for free.

Even Jinzo was beginning to show his inherent weaknesses at the end of this previous ban. He was a staple a year ago; in every deck build. And he offered a modicum of defense as oppoesed to a Trap Card that does nothing to protect your field. But he started to loose his luster as traps were hardly game finishers in the developing game. While a few people may be trying out Royal Oppresion, the more play it sees, the more people are begining to realize that its just not as overall effective as they thought it would be.

Oh, my deck is here on the first page, actually.
http://www.cogonline.net/showthread.php?goto=lastpost&t=11192 will link you to the last post. Thats where I realized I had incorrectly listed a few things and fixed it.

Given that most people only run 6-8 traps, some even only 4, Jinzo is losing that luster fast. I am about to remove a Trap from my Deck and replace it for a monster or probably a Spell Card. That way I will not rely on 9 Traps.

Maybe. But unless you're going for an all out theme in your deck, Jinzo still belongs. Seriously, if you aren't running more than 4 traps, and your deck does not require either the complete absence of tributes, or many very specific tributes, you ought to use him. So unless you are playing Hino / Yamata control or hard core aggro, I really can't see a deck without Jinzo. Of course, his true place has always, and always will be, in a Machine deck.

Shawn, I even saw you play this deck yesterday at the event. XD Wow, interesting deck I'd say. Wish I could have played it with my own. Would have been fun.

XD Maybe I should just make a whole series of fun decks and just have a couple competitive ones. I've always tried to be a serious player while maintaining a serious judge demeanor as well. I guess it's difficult to mix the two together..

Interesting deck Shawn..lol That's all I gotta say and it did run pretty decently.

Thanks. Its a fun deck to play. I might play it in a tournament to see what it can do and just to have fun with it

Hey, you could possibly try out Fairy Box. John gave me ideas with that when the two of us played each other. Pretty interesting card. Ordeal of the Traveler is another interesting idea to consider as well. After all, you have a ton of removel with those traps you selected.
