if i have 2 face down monsters and my opponent has a mystic swordsman lv. 2 and a Gemini elf

if mystic swordsman kills one of my monsters with his effect then Gemini attacks to reveal a penguin solider and i return his monsters. if my opponent has not had a summon and then in main phase 2 he gets back his swordsman lv. 2 can he tribute it for lv.4 that turn

Even if Penguin Soldier left Mystic 2 alone, Mystic 2 still cannot level up. He has to kill something "as a result of battle", which means not using his effect. Easiest targets? Magical Scientist, spent Spear Dragon and co. (GAF, Giant Orc, Gardna after being attacked once), an unfortunate Kuriboh, etc.

Once it kills something through sheer "strength" (or lack of), THEN it levels up to 4.

yep yep, i still dont understand why people dont get the effect of the monster, its quite clear what Destroyed as a result of battle and result of an effect mean.

guess people just dont like to pay attention sometimes.
