Mytic Swordsman LV2 VS. Waboku

A. If player A attacks player B's face-down monster with Mystic Swordsman LV2 and player B activates Waboku, will player B's monster still be destroyed?

B. Same question but with Drillroid in place of Mystic Swordsman.

Yes, in both cases the face-down monster would still be destroyed by the effect of the attacking monster.

Remember, the monsters are destroyed by card effect, not by battle damage.

Also, point of note, if "Drillroid" attacks, the monster would still be flipped face-up as normal and any Flip-Effects would be activated.

Well, yes actually. Waboku only reduces Battle Damageto 0. It has no effect on Mystic Swordsman LV2's destruciton effect. Same for Drilloid.

I should add, in the scenario with Drilloid, the monster would still be flipped and any flip oriented effect would activate, whether the defender playes Waboku or not.

Thank you for the welcome Skey23 and for the rulling, and you too Digital. That is how I thought it would work. You would be surprised at how many people (good duelists) miss this one in my local tourny. I thought maybe it was just me not understanding. I will have to get over my low self esteme problem.
