hello there i just though of this
i looked through netrep.net and dint found a ruling about a specific card Archfiend of gilfer but there should be a ruling with these card(or maybe is an errata).

Why the ruling?
There is a one hit kill with this card which is woodland sprite so each time you send it to the graveyard it comes back and keep doing it until you win.i think this is exactly legal because of the text which says
When this card is sent to the Graveyard, you can activate its effect. You can then equip it to a monster on the field, and this card will be treated as an Equip Spell Card that decreases the ATK of the equipped monster by 500 points.

that means woodland sprite does work with it.because it states sent to the graveyard which means no matter which way it is sent to the graveyard its effect activates.and woodland text.
Send an Equip Spell Card equipped to this monster to the Graveyard to inflict 500 points of Direct Damage per Equip Spell Card to your opponent's Life Points.

Im telling this to this forum so they can add a ruling because that would be an Easy One hit kill.

They don't need to ADD any ruling.

Archfiend of Glifer effect can not be activated when it is sent by the field by Woodland sprite because it was not the last thing that happened. Woodland sprite dealing damage was. Its a game mechanic that has been around for quite some time regarding optional triggers.

This is the same ruling to why you can only use the effect of "Peten the Dark Clown" if his going to the graveyard is the last thing to happen.

"Archfiend of Gilfer" is not better than what most people think.

yeah i really dont like the card because you can
equip to an opponents monster to decrease its attack and destroy it but if you destroy your opponents monster and he doesnt have any more monsters you have to equip it to yours.

Actually Gilfer is an "optional" effect so you don't "have" to equip it to yours (unless you want to keep him in play so he'll have a crack at your opponent's next monster when yours dies.)
