Night Assailant - Resolving Discard Effect

Ok, I checked the FAQ and searched topics on Night Assailant and I am still a bit confused:

Player A activates Devine Wrath in response to an effect and discards Night Assailant for the discard effect.

1) When does the effect of returning a flip effect to hand resolve?

2) Can the Night Assailant that was discarded be the target of the return? (can it return itself, or would there have to be another flip effect monster in the grave?

3) Could Playber B, chain a Devine Wrath to the activation of the "return flip effect" and destroy Night Assailant -- or would that be starting a new chain before another resolved?

4) In using Night Assailant with XYZ fusion effect, can a single Night Assailant be recycled for multiple uses of the YXZ effects?

Thanks for any help.

After the current chain resolves

No

Since Night Assailant's effect activates after the current chain resolves it starts a new chain. Divine Wrath could be chained to Night Assailant's activtion and negate it's effect though obviously it won't destroy Night Assailant because he's already in the graveyard.

You cannot return the same Night Assailant you just discarded. If you already have another copy of Night Assailant in your graveyard then you have as much XYZ fodder as you wish!

Thanks. I had assumed the answers you provided but I did not have see them in the Advanced Research Material or FAQS to be sure.

Also, adding:

"You cannot return the same Night Assailant you just discarded." to the ruling FAQ would sure be helpful.

Thanks again -- you folks are doing the game a great service by being here to answers our questions.

From the UDE Official rulings page for 'Night Assailant':

"You cannot select the "Night Assailant" that was itself sent to the Graveyard, so there is no infinite loop."

It was ruling #5.

He's one of my favorite cards, great things to discard, and an emergency Man-Eater, just watch out for Nobleman obviously. Put 3 in a deck with the underused Tribute to the Doomed, fairly new Monster Recovery, Magic Jammer/Spell Shield Type 8's, Raigeki Break..... all decently usable, non-restricted cards with good effects that require you to discard, not to mention TIV and even Dark Paladin, and combo that with Forced Requisition... can you say, ouch? I know I can. Just thank goodness he's not a Water-type, and Abyss Soldier can only be used once per turn, or he'd be broken out the yin-ying. Could you imagine if you could activate Abyss Soldier multiple times in a turn, and have infinite discard fodder with Night Assailant? Snatch Steal all his monsters with bouncing it back, bounce his entire field away, or fill your monster zones up by bouncing your Premature over and over again. He's already handy for getting some defense on the field in an emergency with Prematuring him, bouncing your Premature back, and then using it again on something else if needed.

Ack, sorry to go off topic like that, I ramble too much. I just rather love Night Assailant, nice common card, with so many uses. He should really see more play than he does.
