Odd Exodia deck idea?

Just as an odd Exodia deck idea, I've thought about running Mystic Tomatos combined with Compulsor Evacuation Device and Penguin Soldier......ever given it any thought? Obviously the CED and Penguin Soldier can do double duty to keep you opponent's monsters off the field as well as reclaiming a flipped MOFor other key monster of your own, the Mystic Tomatos thin, maintain field presence, special summon Sangan...it's a little crazy I know....but I'm curious to see if anyone else has given this type of Exodia deck a go?

Friend of mine had an idea to run a bunch of Searchers and suicide them to thin the deck. Run it in tandem with bounce effects to keep nasties clear, and split the difference. Never did build it though. Might make a CSC Deck.

Yup tried it. Worked once in about 10 duels. Then again, I find Exodia decks just get crushed by what everyone runs here.

P.S. Simon... :p

i once ranb an exodia with 2 tomatos and three compulsarys so u can get exodia piece to the fiel and get it bak to ur hand... i think it could work the searchers would also speed up your deck also u could run apprentice magician

I doesnt seem so much an odd Exodia idea as an old Exodia idea. Back in the days of MRL, using tomatos and hane-hane (and later penguin soldier when the Joey set came out) to bounce Exodia pieces to hand was one of the fastest ways to use Exodia.
This was a few years ago however, and my memory is a little fuzzy *creak* *groan* Eh- when I were a lad...

Then came PSV, and backup soldier, and Exodia was never the same again.

Running exodia today is just....a bad idea to me i guess. I see far too many banishers and sidedecks dimensional fissures. =/

Oh heck, I wasn't talking about a major event deck! In judging for 5 years I haven't seen an Exodia deck win a tournament yet....I'm from Iowa but I'm not THAT naive!

I just always like to keep an Exoida deck in my case for fun play and am always trying to make different versions.

Here's a slightly weirder idea for you after Strike of Neos is released:

The Ritual Toolbox!

Use Advanced Ritual Technique to bring out Paladin of White Dragon and drop all 4 normal pieces into the Graveyard. It's pretty easy to fetch them out of there at that point. It's just a rough idea but I'm certain there is a winning idea out of that. (Then again, I think ART can be a foundation for a lot of deck types).

Wow- it is painful choice all over again :)
There are some definate ideas with this! Then use paladin to pull BEWD- sort of a yugi's grand-dad deck...

I've used a Relinquished / Exoida deck for years. It thins the deck when using Manju and I can use Exoida pcs. for the ritual summon as well as absorbing my opponent's monsters. I like to use Dark Door in this deck paticularly. Emergency Provisions also works nicely in this deck.

For those of you who may not know the card btw:

STON-JP045
Advanced Ritual Technique
Ritual Magic
Select 1 Ritual Monster in your hand. Send, from your Deck to the Graveyard, Normal Monsters whose total Levels equal the selected card's. Special Summon the selected card.

So yes, it can search out all the pieces from your deck and drop them in to the GY. Just watch out for the Crow though!

STON-JP024
D.D. Crow
Dark/Winged-Beast/1/100/100
Discard this card from your hand to your Graveyard. Remove one card from your opponent's Graveyard from the game. This effect can be launched even in opponent's turn.
(OUCH)

Fortunately, long gone are the days when people have side decks against Exodia. I havent seen anyone use exchange for years...

Of course, this might change at some point in the future. Go! Shonen Jump Exodia!

Yeah, but back that up with Backup Soldier as a chain, retrieve the pieces and D.D. Crow's effect goes away cawing, I mean, crying...lol....RFDD and CED will help return it as well....

But it would work the otherway too since D.D. Crow is Multi-Trigger (basically a Monster version of Disappear): You play Backup Soldier and I chain to that with the Crow and watch as it carries the Exodia piece far far away... (and yes, RftDD + CED can get it back but that's a lot of work).

Wouldn't the effect of D.D. Crow be considered a Spell Speed 1 as it's a card effect? I didn't think you could chain a SS1 to a SS2...but I'm probably wrong here...

If this is its correct text, then that bolded line would make it a multi-trigger. Spell Speed 2.

All this talk about exodia makes me want to change mine back to heart of the forbbiden one. Now that is a fun exodia deck type because you spend a good 5-10 min in the draw phase.

try it out its so funny to see your opponents expresion when you stay in your draw phase
basics
5 exodia pieces
3 reload
3 monster recovery (really old version of reload)
3 heart of the underdog
1 pot of avarice
normal monsters to fill in the rest of the slots

you could even add in jar of greed for more drawphase shinanigans

Well for my Exodia deck that I have, I employ a simple method to use for searching for pieces + drawing...

Have an Emissary of the Afterlife/Sangan f/d, use DW Lightning on it, and run 2-3 Browws in the deck...so I get the search and drawing if I have a Broww to discard. Not to mention Graceful fodder :).

And that last suggestion that was made, a guy built up such a deck in my area, was quite effective to say the least (getting Exodia by turn 2/3 on average).

this may sound bad to you then but i'm actually thinking of playing exoida for my regionals :D i found some really good combos for it so i'm going to take a stab at it

i might not though if i cant get and good draws with it the deck is still under constrution and having a really hard time getting some of the cards for it
