Ojama Trio and Kaiser Colosseum

I think I know the answer to this but I wanted to be sure and please forgive me if this was asked before.

If I have Kaiser Coloseum on the field first turn and I set a monster and Ojama Trio Face down, can I then play Ojama Trio as soon as he draws so I can fill his field and can't play a monster.

Kaiser says that my opponents cannot place monsters on the field. It doesn't say anything about my placing monsters on his field.

So whats the correct way to handle this situation? Your help is appreciated.

I think what would happen is you will place 3 tokens on your opponent's side. Then after Ojama Trio's chain links resolves, Kaiser Colosseum's continuous effect will kick in and and your opponent has to destroy monsters on his side of the field until both of you will have equal number of monsters.

Once you Set you monster, Kaiser Colosseum's effect becomes active (since your opponent would have no monster yet).

Since YOU are placing the monsters on the opponent's field it is legal. The tokens would remain and the opponent would no longer be able to place any more monsters on the field, as long as he/she has the same or more monsters. This includes Setting or Summoning any other monster.

Hope that helps

Looking at the rules for Kaiser Colosseum,

6. When "Kaiser Colosseum" is active, and "Cyber Jar" is activated, if your opponent would control more monsters than you, your opponent has to destroy monsters equal to the difference; the excess monsters are never actually Summoned and instead are sent from the Deck to the Graveyard (so "Witch of the Black Forest" does not get its effect, etc.). So the monsters are destroyed after they are picked up, but before any monsters are Special Summoned for the effect of "Cyber Jar".

it looks like if your opponent, somehow, managed to get more monster on his field, then he/she has to destroy his monsters until both player would have equal number of monsters.

That is because the opponent is the one placing the monsters.

In the case of Ojama you are placing them, so there is no restriction, the tokens will not be destroyed.

I stand corrected. novastar is correct on this one mayo211. Upon further reviewing the card, I saw this:

2. If there are already more monsters on your opponent's side of the field when you activate "Kaiser Colosseum", nothing happens to your opponent's monsters but your opponent cannot Summon any more. Also, if the number of monsters controlled by "Kaiser Colosseum"'s controller is reduced, the opponent does not have to remove any of his monsters.

Its easy to see where the confusion comes in. You just have to remember that it is a restriction on the opponent him/herself. The controller is free to place as many monsters as he/she wishes on either side of the field.

thanks for the help guys. I was thinking the same thing...since it says the opponents can't place monster4s, i was figuring I could still put monsters on his field. thanks again!
