Out of Retirement, and Back to Kick Some Butt

OK, taking a look at what could be the new banned list ... and what currently is, I would feel safe assuming that this is going to fit into any banned list they wanna put up ... so I am bringing out my original SKILL DRAIN deck from retirement, and I am going to wreak some havoc... You will see a bit of creative thinking in here as I am using the Spiritual Earth Art to have massive recursion, swarmability, and just relentless attacking ability.... I plan on using this to shut ppl down, and pound them into the dirt until they beg for it to end.... let me know what you think.... ALL COMMENTS WELCOME, even if its not real FEEDBACK, and just comments about the deck....

anyway.. without further adew...

My Skill Drain BEAST .... enjoy

isnt chaining skill drain to cold wave sweet? ;)
where is scapegoat? they can "pay" for spiritual earth art...
i like morphing jar here...speciffically because skill drain is @ 3 and spiritual earth art - kurogane is @ 3 ( one of the most fun cards ever)...with the supposed format change bringing nobleman of crossout in @ 2 its a bit more risky.... but as long as spiritual earth art is set its a worthwhile risk imho...and the bonus of chaining SEA-K to your flipsummon of morphing jar is more fun than i can resist.... with or without skilldrain....
the other card with potential is "mormolith"...functions similar to exiled....but with potential to be more than a 1-4-1, alabet - with some risk.... ttributing it's self (while SD is active) will kill all opponents monsters with def of 1000 or less...no skilldrain and any earth can be tributed...giving some serious mass destruction potential....being dependant on traps to run well - you might consider a cat of ill omen ( w/forced back in side?)....espeially if you are trying to set up before jinzo x2/royal decree hits field....and prohibition has some potental as well....
when things are going badly... i found 1 or 2 creature swap was a boon...'goats, nimbles and def pos beaters....1 main and 1 side was my preference.... other side deck options are wildheart & kinetic soldier... both sea-k viable...

I actually thought about Morphing Jar, but since skill drain is my main focus, and I have the protection in place... My focus is to make sure NO EFFECTS happen...... BUT, i do run into a lack of cards in hand sometimes due to my being so aggressive with this deck.... With the Earth Art in there, it brings to me a field presence that I would not normally have when I run low on cards in hand.... so Morphing Jar was indeed tempting and MAY still find its way in.... but I decided to go the more aggressive route, and pound them with my big guys, and then when they have to be put in defense position, I can Kurogane it out, and bring out another heavy hitter for yet another 2300 / 2400 strike ... oh ya... looking to bring some relentless pounding on my opponent with this strategy here..... .. also, the Nimbles will help allow for this to happen as well since they have their own swarming capability as well... .... definitely good thoughts... keep em coming everyone.....

R E morphing jar....making sure you get that there IS a way to use it with skill drain active.... provided you flip summon it and have spiritual earth art set to chain to your flip summon... 'pay' with morphing jar put a beater on field then discard & draw 5....since morphing jar is not on field - skill drain wont negate the effect, as i said it is a bit tenuous... less so if you run book of moon as well.... a wee bit , and you can pay with a face down - so even in face of monarch summon or nobleman sea-k can jerk targeted 'jar out from under trouble putting beater or recruiter in its place...you could respond to the flip of mj with ring of destruction or torrential tribute too...as long as its not on field when effect resolves...

also - gigantes is a good graveyard effect...depending on how complex you want to get...it shines sided in against decks that need a big back row/combos...nice with swap too .... if you get locked down its your out and the ability to special summon an extra 1900 dmg can be a blessing... if you need your back row protect gigantes with sea-k....you know the drill....

I did not know that.... I figured Morphing Jar would just miss its timing or something..... wow.... very smooth...... I will definitely have to try it out.... wow... its a cool move.... hahaha

skill drain / earth can be simple brute force beatdown or pretty complex depending on your tastes.... sometimes less stable but more versatile as a result...transmigration prophecy can put used sea-k back in deck.... i've played 5 in 1 game a few times... fun stuff....but either way - an adaptable side deck is a must, 'cause you know your opponent is gonna be making some changes.... lately i've been using beast/earth with skill drain in the side....not regionals ready yet - but a blast to play....
havent seen jathro around much....does he still do tune ups?

I dunno, but I would not mind seeing him do a tune up here.... fo course, this deck should be somewhat familiar to a few faces in here.... i put it up a couple years ago, and have posted different offshoots from time to time including my Nitro Unit / Skill Drain deck.... which was fun but definitely less effective than this arrangement of cards.....

It can be brutal to face.... and Im sure it would scare a few to see it come back around again... lol

creature swap big beaters in def , equip with nitro unit....niiiiiiiiice..... there goes 1/3 of opponents lp's.... and if its chainsaw - you draw as well, dont you?

Exactly, , as it sits now, i keep that in my side deck along with creature swap, enemy controller and a few other little nasties....
it quite the formidable deck to go up against...... and even more fun to play WITH....
You should see their face when they have a card or two that gives me hassles, and I side in a couple Magic Drain / or Spell Shields and 2 Prohibition .... oh ya... they dont know what to think, especially if one of the cards I call out is Mobius, or Heavy Storm, or whatever the heart of their deck is.... like Jinzo or Royal Decree.... this deck has some nasty surprises in waiting for them.. oh ya.... I like it Alot....

...

Ya it is... I also like to chain SEA-K to cold wave too... much fun, and they cant do a thing about it.... hehehe ( well, not once they let it happen anyway)

OMG>. hey, do you think it we be TOO ABUSIVE... if I were to sneak in a Shrink or 2 in this deck? .. or should I stick to keeping Nitro Unit around ... I think Shrink would be more versatile..

Shrink would be quite fun in here...good to see this deck back. I'm trying to revamp Horus for this banlist, and also trying to work something with Mask of Restrict...(a seperate deck).

AAHHH HORSEFACE .....

Sweet, it will be cool to see ur horus deck back.. Ill have to go take a look .... remember that Decree is semi-restricted.... lol.... (hmmm... I guess prohibition will have to prohibit THAT too ... lol )

Why yes, you are right... as of SATURDAY the 1st, it will be.... so since I end up using alot of cards, I can go with just 41 cards in this deck, and still pound ppl silly.... maybe I will just use a Card of Safe Return instead... just to see how it flows with all the special summoning I have going on

Nice deck, One of the duelists around my way runs one of these, pretty sweet. Something you should think about, maybe pole position. Since You Will be having huge monsters, Pole Position can really be useful.
