Peten the Dark Clown

Hello, question(s):

1. Player A controls "Peten" and summons another "Peten", then activates "Torrential Tribute". Could Player A activates both "Peten's" effect (even he has just another in his deck/hand), removing both "Peten" from his Graveyard, or can he activate just 1 "Peten's" effect choosing one of them?

2. Generally, could a Player activates "Peten's" effect, removing it from the Graveyard, even if they haven't other to summon?
And if a Player is sure to have a "Peten" to summon, and then there isn't in his Deck, what happen? Is the Deck shuffled and the game go on, or do the removed "Peten" returns in the Graveyard, or that Player takes a warning?

tnx

It terms of game rules You do not "KNOW" the contents of your deck, you may activate any effect to search for cards in your deck since you do not "KNOW" that you don't have any. However you must show your deck to your opponent after not being able to find waht you're looking for.

1. You may remove one peten to special the remaining peten. Even if you were allowed 4 petens in the same situation you would only be allowed to activate the effect of the last peten destroyed. When you activate torrential tribute on your own turn your opponent's monsters are destroyed first followed by your own monsters in the order in whih you desire. Only the last peten destroyed can use it's effect.

2. I believe so, not positive.

Not quite: they were both Destroyed at the same time. Cards that activate when they're sent to the graveyard MAY be chained to each other even though they are Spell Speed one cards. You MAY activate both Petens.

that is 100% incorrect. Don't you know anything about priority and effects that cause things to happen at the same time?

Tell me who wins in this situation:
both players both have the head of exodia, 3 exodia limbs in their hand, and a witch of the black forest on the field. Player A activates Dark Hole

Witch of the Black Forest are spell speed one cards.. but they chain to each other.  They got destroyed at the same time.  The turn palyers activates first the non-turn player activates second so the non-turn player wins as the non-player's withc resolves first (and the other not at all because of Exodia, but it was still ACTIVATED) What does that have to do with this situation?

2 petens were destroyed at the same time, if one can activate its effect isn't the timing for the other the same?

If you got Torrential-ed/Dark Hole-ed/Raigeki-ed and both your "Peten" were sent to the Graveyard, the effects of both would go into a chain to resolve since both are destroyed simultaneously and the timing is correct. Remember Simultaneous Effects Go On Chains (SEGOC) :wink:

So, you can remove 1 to special summon 1 to the field, and shuffle your deck to resolve the first.

You could then scan through your deck, searching for another (which won't be there), and then shuffle it again, to resolve the second.
