I need an opinion about a proper proceedure
from UDE's Player Management Forums
Hello to everyone, I hope you all had a nice memorial day weekend. I know I did I went down to KC for the Regionals event down there and took fourth place in the regional for yugioh, so woot to me I'm off to Nationals, wish me luck. However there were a few incidents that I witnessed, that I could tell were not properly handled in anyway, and I would like a few opinons on how the incident should have been handled.
Here's what happened.
Player A was sitting at the table during round seven in the middle of his match and all of sudden is pulled away from the table by the judges and has his match ended, with no knowledge of an pre-existing occurances.
Judge A brings him back to the judges table and explains to him that he is being disqualified because two judges supposedly overheard him talking to other players about "scooping" to him for match win into the top 8 and would pay them off for doing so.
Player A explains that this was not the case and has proof that this is completely false, and asks to speak with the TO.
TO decides that they need to get to the bottom of this.
Player B and C along with player A each tell them sperate stories in private, and they all match up to what player A said originally.
TO and Judge A determine that they have the wrong person, and no have a rather large mess on their hands.
So my question is to whoever would like to answer this. Would the proper proceedure for such an incident be, to simply put player A's match on hold, and offer time extension if needed, and then get to bottom of the story first, and find other players involved and pull them from their matches to compare stories, and then determine a course of action from there, or is this the proper way to handle things.
