i've been hearing a lot of hype about how uber Pot of Avarice decks were...im a bit confused...how do they work? or what do they use(pot of avarice no duh..but u know what i mean)..

Well, think about it... If you run out of monsters, while your opponent replenishes his deck with them, and has very little Spell or Traps left, what will you be drawing, and what will he be drawing?

haha i understand how avarice works and what it does...(i use it in my horus deck) but im just curious how the decks with it as the main theme win? is it like deck out like kingpinopie and monster recycling like masterwooO sed ot what

I think its a card with an obvious purpose... Recycle monsters and draw a couple more cards.... so it can be used in many different styles of decks.... The problem IS, if you build a deck around it, is it going to win??? well you can have plenty of cards meant to thin the deck, or to drop cards in the grave, but overall it is the WIN that we are after.... My mill deck has other purposes as well.... that is why i have Guardian Sphinx (x2) Spirit Reapers, Tsukuyomi, and plenty of protection.... if it doesnt deck you out, then it will still have a way to beat you down and it is very disruptive ..... what Im saying is, it is not a card to just put in a deck, you have to know how to adapt to ITS use, so you cant have too much defensive, / deck thinning going on , but you cant have too little either.... and if you are to build the right deck, go for a few searchers, and some nimbles... then put up whatever deatsticks and staples you need ..... I think as long as you have the POTENTIAL to put monsters in the grave you can use it... but why not build a deck that will not only drop a few extra monsters in the deck , but also have the ability to draw the game out long enough for it to happen... Yugioh is an advanced Checkers game, Pot of Avarice is like a Chess Piece.... so you have to strategize a bit to use it..... this shows that Yugioh is evolving and becoming more advanced, ....... anyway.... ya.... i hope that rant made sense....

It's used for draw power. And it may not seem like it, but if you end up with an 8 card hand full of cards that you can use, and your opponent only has 2 cards. You're going to win.

ah...so thats what the hype is...
Yep yep, I havent seen it played in the TCG though, well one reason for this is that some of the card in the OCG arnt released in the TCG yet. :)

As of late I worked Pot of Avarice into my Chaos deck. I originally thought it would be Anti-Synergetic, but I was wrong. Games are not decided by lifepoints they are decided by who has more cards, and who manages thier cards better. With yugioh evolving into a more strategic card game cards will all Shift towards that. In all honesty its an exciting time to be playing yugioh. Cards like Pot of Avarice make me excited to be playing this game.

If you end up with an 8 card hand, that you can play that would mean alot of them are quickplay, and unless itll equal OTK it doesnt mean anything.

the most perfect hand including 8 cards would have to be.

Heavy Storm
Lightning Vortex
Nobleman of Crossout
Cyber Dragon
Maraudin Captain
Cyber-Stein
Limiter Remover
Night Assailant

and that right there alone would mean OTK.

so no, unless your hand is exactly that or similar to it, i dont think you have any other form of advantage but more cards in hand. That you possibly cant use.

I most likely will get warned again by DJP since it seems I have a restriction on talking about anything that would lead to one member getting insulted.

::Sigh:: If you have any problems with what I said, just ask DJP to delete it. :(

I am so insulted I'm going to make a statement.
First I forgot to include un-.
Next. You statement was just exercising your own personal thought. You neighter offedned nor intended to offend.

I might add that your tone or type might come off as ... something disagreeable. If people realize that is just as you speak, they will understand. Now back to my formal personality.
