Question about Enemy Controller in Battle

Hi, everybody. This is my first post, so forgive me if I don't word this very well, but I have a question about Enemy Controller that may apply to other quick-play spell cards during the battle phase.

I have Enemy Controller face down for a few turns and attack Other Guy's face-down Total Defense Shogun with my Vampire Lord. Total Defense Shogun gets flipped up. Can I play Enemy Controller to change Total Defense Shogun's position after he is flipped and before damage calculation or not?

If this is possible, that'll change the way I play the card entirely. Thanks in advance.

No. You may not activate Enemy Controller during the damage step. (A monster is flipped face-up by an attack during an earlier part of the damage step than damage calculation)
