If Gilfer were equipped to a monster on the the field (and I have Pandeominum out), and somehow Gilfer was destroyed and sent to the graveyard while equipped to a monster, would Pandemonium trigger?

kinda iffy on this one because Gilfer's treated as an equip spell card while on the field, but I'm not sure if he still counts as a monster, or if he's treated as a monster once he's in the graveyard.

I would say yes. Pandemonium should trigger, in my opinion. Here is my reasoning:

A card is sent to the Graveyard. Pandemonium asks:

- Is that new card in the Graveyard an Archfiend Monster? Yes. The card should be treated as a monster once he's in the graveyard.
- Was it destroyed? Yes.
- Then bring a new Archfiend Monster from your deck.

That's pretty interesting.  Dark Necrofear has the effect of recursion when destroyed by an opponents card effect when it is a Equip Card.  But that's part of its effect.

Sangan and Witch have in their effect that when they are sent from the field, they get their effect.  So if they are absorbed by Relinquished or TER, they would still get effect.

Gilfers effect states that when it is sent to the Graveyard, it would receive its effect, but since it has the same ruling as Peten, then it would have to be the last thing to happen.    Since Gilfer is an Equip Card when sent, I think it depends on how it is destroyed or "sent" to the Graveyard.  If it is being sent to do Damage, like with "Stamping Destruction", then it would be sent as a Spell and resolve as a Monster (?) because of the timing.

I think it would only get effect (Pandemonium) if it remains in the Graveyard and does not come back to field.

But Pandemonium states "each time a player's Archfiend Monster Card(s) is destroyed and sent to the graveyard".  When Gilfer was "destroyed" he was an Equip Card not a Monster Card.  So Pandemonium isn't just watching the graveyard it is watching the field and the graveyard:

If
-An Archfiend Monster Card on the field was Destroyed.
and
-That monster is sent to the graveyard.
then
-Select an Archfiend Monster Card of lower level from your deck and add it to your hand.

How would Axe of Despair count? It is never an Archfiend Monster Card? Also how would you select a lower level Archfiend Monster from your deck if it doesn't have a level?

Ouch, now I see what happens when I don't read the 197 mails from the judge list in my inbox. I fail. :x

When "Archfiend of Gilfer" is sent to the Graveyard as an Equip Spell Card it will NOT trigger "Pandemonium"'s effect.

Taken from the judge list. You were right, anthonyj.

Im thinking "Falling Down's" effect where Axe counts as an Archfiend.

bah. There goes the main use of Gilfer. >_>

*scraps the deck idea*
