Your ruling on this, that the intention of the player is clear... are you to say
that they are attempting to abuse a technicality in each and every situation, and
that each of those should be considered correct answers?
Because I must highly disagree with that. Such a ruling wouldn't simply open the
door for abuses from the other side, it'd kick it wide open. With such a ruling
that saying "Mushroom Man" is the same as "Mushroom Man #2" gives clear grounds
that saying "Dark Magician" will count as being right for "Skilled Dark Magician",
"Dark Magician Girl", and "Dark Magician of Chaos".
1. In this instance, despite intention of either player, the correct name of the
card is Luster Dragon #2 and should be declared as such, especially since a Luster
Dragon (a clearly different card) exists in the game. The full name of the
intended card should be given in any situation such as this.
2-3. I am unsure of this one. More specifically a question: which would be
correct, or are both? And this also applies to the other Harpie Ladies (1, 2, 3):
is the full name Harpie Lady 1 correct, is just saying Harpie Lady correct, or is
both?

I do apologize if I sound as if I am trying to teach rather than learn, but I do
believe this should be discussed. I say the full name of the card should be
stated when dealing with cards that share names (such as Luster Dragon & Luster
Dragon #2 or BLS and BLS-Envoy)

ANSWERS:
Questions 1, 4: If the players are still unsure as to the card, please have them
name a statistic on the card, ATK, DEF, Level Stars, etc. That will help to
alleviate the naming technicality which we are trying to avoid.
Questions 2, 3: Naming Cyber Harpie Lady or Harpie Lady will be correct for either
Monster.
Question 7: Since there is only one Mushroom Man in the Yu-Gi-Oh! TCG, naming
Mushroom Man would count for Mushroom Man #2.
