refresh my memory...GMot6?

when a grandmaster is destroyed by card effect, does the current controler get his effect to return to hand a ss? or is it the owner?
we had a snatched grandmaster destroyed by its owners exiled force...i did not think the owner would get the effect... but was not sure...its effect goes "on chain" before it goes to graveyard (when destroyed) i had thought...and effect goes off when hit with bottomless.... meaning its not a graveyard effect.... wording says "...your opponents card effect..." so i thought it would give its effect to controller....

Actually, it would sound much simpler.

If you're controlling your opponent's Grandmaster and it's destroyed by your opponent, you get the effect. Remember, they ruled that Grandmaster doesn't have to go to the Graveyard to get the effect. And since it pretty much doesn't matter where it is going... the only thing is that you have to have a Six Samurai in your GY to be able to get the effect as you cannot take a card out of your opponent's GY.

The Grandmaster's effect activates in the graveyard or wherever the card went from the field due to its destruction.

So when the effect activates, the card is already under the control of its owner.

But in the above scenario, the owner of the Grandmaster card was the one who destroyed it, so its effect would not activate, since it was not destroyed by "your opponent's card effect".
(similar to "Goldd vs Exchange")

then explain the bth ruling...
Actually the BTH ruling does not need any special explanation.

It's just a comfirmation for the fact that the Grandmaster's effect can activate wherever the card went after its destruction.
But no matter if it went the the graveyard or the RFG pile, it's under control of its owner when its effect activates.

It's similar to Apprentice Magician:
If AM is destroyed by Sangan and sent to the graveyard, its effect activates there. And if it's destroyed by DMoC instead, its effect activates in the RFG area :)
