Contract with the Abyss
This card is used to Ritual Summon any DARK monster. You must also offer monsters from the field or your hand whose total Level Stars equal the Level Stars of the Ritual Monster you are attempting to Ritual Summon.

It says that it equals. Does that mean if i use it to summon Relinquished, i can only offer a 1 star monster?

Yes it does.

Yes, you can special summon Relinquished with this card.

According to Netrep:
Contract with the Abyss" is used as a generic substitute for Ritual Spell Cards like "Black Illusion Ritual" and "Contract with the Dark Master". You cannot use "Contract with the Abyss" to Ritual Summon a non-Ritual Monster like "Dark Magician".
oh, OK. The answer is yes. You can and must offer a 1 star monster from your hand or on the field to bring out Relinquished. Relinquished must be in you hand to do this. :D

You must offer monster(s) whose total level star(s) equal the level of the monster you are summoning.

Relinquished - 1 star: So you can offer a Goblin Attack Force, OR Dark Mimic LV3 OR Jinzo #7.

Hungry Burger - 6 stars: In this case you must offer 6 stars to summon this card. This can be Goblin Attack Force (X2), OR Tyrant Dragon.

You can offer a monster with more stars than the ritual you are summoning, BUT once you meet the requirement, you cannot offer any more (once you offer a monster with 1 or more stars for Relinquished, you can't offer more just to put them in the graveyard.) The same holds true for Hungry Burger, if you offer 2x GAF, you can't offer others, because the required amount of stars has already been tributed.

Hope this is helps you out, and is understandable

Sorry, but in order to use Contract with the Abyss you have to use equal star level, no more, no less.
