Resetting the battle phase when chaining to a trap.

We are all aware of the old Call of the Haunted, resetting the battle phase scenerio (Player A attacks, player B chains Call of the Haunted - changing the number of monsters on their side, therefore resetting the battle phase.)

However, would a reply occur in this situation:

Player A attacks,
Player B activates Sakeretsu Armor.
Play A chain Ojama Trio places monsters on the opponents side.

Since the number of monsters on Player B side, does the Battle Phase reset - and furthermore, is Player A's monster considered to have attacked, therefore is destroyed by the Sak Armro

-or-

Is the phase restarted, Player A's monster is NOT destroyed becuz the phase was reset and Sak Armor fizzles?

Thanks!

Greetings, I'm going to take a stab at this, Trying to become a Level 1 Judge here, so here is goes.

In the senerio with the Call of the Haunted you are correct on the replay, but in your case, though the declaration of attack and the chain of Ojama Trio:

Player A( Declares an Attack)
Player B, activated Sakeretsu Armor
Player A, chains to SAK.Armor, with Ojama Trio

Resolve:

Player A, ojama trio activates and sets 3 monsters on the field, but since you chained it, your creature gets destroyed.  And as a reminder, as soon as you declare an attack, once you DECLARE an attack, didn't attack yet, but plan on it, with an anouncement, Sakeretsu Armor, can be activated upon your anouncement.....I hope this helps...

In the situation provided, Ojama Tokens are Special Summoned (meaning that at the end of this chain, a Replay would generally occur). Sakuretsu Armor then destroys the attacking monster. End of the chain there is no attacker. No Replay.

Yes you were correct.

Minor fix to your explanation (in caps)

Player A, ojama trio activates and SUMMONS 3 monsters on the field, SAKARETSU ARMOR RESOLVES, your creature gets destroyed.

Reason: replay or not; chain or not - a monster attacked, and thats all Sakaretsu Armor needs to destroy the attacking monster

Good luck in your quest to become a judge

To Help my confusion,

In order to activate Sakaretsu Armor, one must attack or just declare an attack, that makes a big difference doesn't it? That would mean either in the beginning of the Battle step or Damage Step, wouldn't it....Greg

No, once you're in the Damage Step, no cards besides those that alter attack or defense, counter traps, or special cards like "Null and Void" can be activated in response to anything. But Sakuretsu Armor must be activated in the Battle Step of the Battle Phase.
