Ruling Confirmation...

Da Twiggy Man!
I was wondering if I've been playing a legal combo with Call of the Haunted.

Jinzo is brought back with Call of the Haunted. I activate Giant Trunade. Since Call of the Haunted is removed and is placed into my hand, would it be safe to say that Jinzo would be destroyed and sent to the Graveyard? After all, Call of the Haunted states that if it's destroyed or removed from the field then the monster connected to it is destroyed.

Just want a confirmation on this. The above paragraph has been my ruling for some time. I've had duelists in my tournaments I host say that it works and I try to explain it to them that Call of the Haunted can't be negated if it's not on the field. Just want this it to be confirmed.

We'll technically speaking...

Jinzo can only negate field related Trap effects that are active on the field.

As Jinzo negates only field activated Trap cards, who's to say Call of the Haunted can activate if removed and placed into the hand?

Call of the Haunted isn't activate by the time it is removed from by Giant Trunade, so it wouldn't apply to Jinzo.
I don't get what your insinuating. Call of the Haunted's effect is activated as soon as it is removed from the field. Jinzo negates it its effect. How is that any more or less technical?

Sorry Dj, I'd agree with everyone else, and I had an intersting point, I just couldn't get it into words and typed into the computer right. lol, don't mind that post :p

then wouldnt he be under the influence 24/7?

lol.

anywho, the reason why it works is because if we replace trunade for MST wouldnt the same thing happen?

you cant rule 1 way and then another when its a similar situation.

One goes to graveyard the other goes to your hand.

basically activating the destroy part from calls effect, but. we have to remember Jinzo is Jinzo. and Jinzo does what?

negate traps that are face up on the field and doesnt let you activate any traps.

so basically call would become an empty shell.

the only thing that doesnt get erased from trap cards while Jinzo is face up is maintenance costs.

meaning if you have Jinzo and a Imperial Order on the field you still have to pay the 700 to keep it on the field. if you dont then it gets sent to the graveyard.
