Ruling :: Luminous Soldier

Really then, what is the point of this card? I would think they would have something better...You got your chasers worms morphings and decrees, then out of no where this junk comes in, And I ask you, wus up wit dat?

It avoids Additional Punishment that Cards like Cylinders, since his boost occurs in the damage step. There are other benefits but I am drawing a blank :?

But honestly do you want a good card as the hardest to get of the set? Logically, No you don't. I am happy with the rarity of this card, since I hardly get anything above a Normal Rare from a TP set.

Ring of Destruction would be one of the biggest abuses. Get the pump then blow him up after the attack.

Thats why it was in the DMG step, once it completes the attack it immediately goes back to what it was before. Since Ring of Destruction Can not activate in the DMG step since it does not modify the attack or defense of a card or is a counter card, the opponent would have to choose to Ring it before the boost if he wants to avoid the additional boost damage. There is no way to ring it while its has self boosted.

Well if you think about it... Luminous and Penumbral in a way were geared (atk wise) toward the two signature monsters of the whole TCG. Penumbral set to take out the BEWD (Dark gets boost against light to total 3100 ATK) and Luminous set to take out Dark Magician (Light gets boost against Dark to total 2600 ATK).

Other than that why else would the boosts be different? Personally I thought at first they should get the same boost. But when you look back at the big picture, it makes sense.
