dragged down the grave demands at least 1 card in your hand to be activated

when you pay the cost of serial spell , you will have no cards in your hand

can you activate serial spell in a chain to dragged down the grave?

or it will fall into the rule " if you cannot complete the activation of a card, you cannot activate the card" as seen in the infinite loops rules on the scenarios:

skill drain/royal decree/jinzo/amplifer

imperial order/snatch steal/jinzo/amplifier

as ruled by bishop

and since i am a nice guy

here goes the descriptions(why anyone else do this?)

Dragged Down Into The Grave
Attrib: Spell Card
Group: Spell
You and your opponent look at each other's hand, select 1 card from each other's hands and discard them to the Graveyard, and each draw 1 card.

Serial Spell
Attrib: Spell Card
Group: Spell
Icon:Quick-Play
You can only activate this card when you activate one of your Normal Spell Cards. Discard all the cards in your hand to the Graveyard. The effect of the card becomes the same as the Normal Spell Card.

You can activate it (since the timing would be correct cause you'll have at least 1 other card in your hand if you're planning on chaining "Serial Spell"). You can chain "Serial Spell" right after it.

During the resolution however, since you do not have any cards left in your hand, the effect would just disappear since it's no longer possible to resolve the effect. So essentially, you discarded your whole hand for no reason.

I thought Serial Spell was ruled that you must have at least one card in hand to use its effect??  And that it was also ruled that since it only mimics the effect of the selected card, there is no payment for the effect past discarding your hand....

yes I think you have to have at least 1 card at the time of activation of serial spell since its the cost of using the effect. Like D. D. designator, even though you know exactly whats in there hand you can't activate D. D. designator if you have no hand. Since if you call it wrong you have to discard your hand and you dont have a hand so cant activate the card in the first place.
