Shang Chi and Other MK questions

I have a few questions about some MK cards.

1) Shang Chi states that he gets the +2/+2 bonus when attacking or defending a character "Without Flight and Without Range", Does this mean that the opponents character must have both flight and range.

2) Evil Awakens states that a hidden character gets a +2 ATK bonus and that you can return a card from the KO'd Pile to your hand. Can you still return the card to the hand if you dont have a hidden character to boost?

Now this question is about an older card.

Utility Belt states that equipped character has the ability to negate payment effects. Does this work on all payment effects, even ones on locations or plot twist or simple characters payment effects?

1. The character involved in battle with Shang Chi must have neither flight nor range. If the opposing character has Flight, Shang Chi will get no bonus. If the opposing character has range, Shang Chi will get no bonus. If the opposing character has flight and range, Shang Chi will get no bonus.

2. Evil Awakens states that target hidden character gets +2 ATK. If there is no legal target, the effect may not be played.

3. Utility Belt works on any payment effect, including that of equipment, locations and plot twists.
