Six Samurai Clarification

Eschew Obfuscation
In reading through all the posts on these critters and all the rulings, I noticed one example that was missing. That is, when you have, let's say Irou equipped with Legendary Ebon Steed and a couple of Zanjis all face up attack on the field, and your opponent summons and activates Torrential; or you attack and they activate Mirror Force, must Irou alone survive? Is it true that you cannot switch a Zanji for your Irou that would be saved by the Steed? Or do you just pick a Six-Samurai to survive due to the Steed and the switching?

The rulings always have it so that one Samurai survives when they talk about multiples being destroyed and don't actually hit this very event, when all would be destroyed (I thought that was interesting that they missed that one--intentional, maybe??).

They didn't miss this one. The rulings state that you can't choose another Six Samurai to destroy instead when all are going to be destroyed by a single effect (aka Mirror Force). Having "Legendary Ebon Steed" doesn't change this fact. All of the monster have been marked for destruction by "Mirror Force". Only "Irou" will survive.

I read that,
"A "Six Samurai" monster that is in the process of being destroyed cannot be destroyed to save another "Six Samurai" monster. For example, if you control "Yariza", "Nisashi", and "Irou" all in Attack Position, and your opponent activates "Mirror Force", you cannot destroy any of those 3 instead of another."

But it doesn't specifically address addition of Ebon in the mix. I ruled that in this case Ebon would only protect the one that it is attatched to (and sited a timing issue for a reason), because, since all are declared to be destroyed by (let's say) Mirror Force, Irou cannot be chosen as a substitute becase he is declared destroyed (making him inelligable, even though we know that Ebon WILL save him...then Ebon is destroyed in his place at the same time that the others are destroyed, making it too late for any of the others to point to the now saved Irou.

Does that about cover it?

short answer is yes. They die then ebon goes bye bye from its effect and then they cant kill irou cos they are already in the grave

and why must your sig say it was last edited by skey23 today and many hours before of after you posted. Its confusing. I keep thinking hes editing all your posts.
