Some cool deck ideas, but not sure where to start.

Anything.

So, here I am, a casual player who enjoys annoying the heck out of my opposition. This is my first post, and I'm kind of thinking. I have tons of cool ideas, but I'm not sure where to start - and it also has to be cost efficient, so I use proxies, so I'm not going to run off and buy some Helios' because I, frankly, can't afford them.

I currently run a casual burn deck, and I've been thinking of these types of decks:

-- Ectoplasmer Burn
(Ectoplasmer, Barrel Behind the Door, Ring of Destruction, Pikeru's Circle of Enchantment, Skill Drain, the works)

-- Card Steal (just for fun)
(Exchange, Graverobber, Creature Swap, Ameba, Amazoness Chain Master, Jowls of Dark Demise, the other works)

-- Deck Destruction
(Where I'm not sure where to start at all!)

If anybody can give me some ideas, I'm sure I can whip up some cards from my ol' card box and all :p

I just realized that there's a person inside Ameba. Poor him.

Welcome to the City, Anything.. Make sure to introduce yourself over in the Hello/Farewell forum too.

I think that the Ectoplasmer burn is probably the easiest one of the three suggested decks for you to build. You can fill your deck with monsters like Indomitable Fighter Lei Lei, Giant Orc, and Goblin Attack Force, all of which are commons. The effects of monsters are liabilities here though. And since your opponent will likely be running weaker ATK monsters (but with more powerful effects) I would like to suggest 2 trap cards to back this up:

Pole Position and Skill Drain. The biggest drawback is that these 2 and Ectoplasmer are all continuous, therefore somewhat susceptible to destruction/negation. But....nothing's perfect, right? Otherwise it would be broken or banned.

Card Stealing has too many options right now to be narrowed into just one deck. There are the Aliens, Necrofear, some of the ones you mentioned, and Falling Down, among many others.

Deck Destruction might be tougher, though offhand: Deck Devastation Virus (more pricey), Needle Worm, Morphing Jar, Morphing Jar #2, Confiscation, Card Destruction, and Drop Off are the first things that pop into my mind.

Its a lot of ideas, like you said. Why not pick and focus on just one right now till its more developed. Then approach one of the others.

I'll head to there now!

How about Curse of Royal or Curse of Anubis? Of course I'll use Lava Golem. Though, I'm kind of afraid of those types of decks which run really big monsters as well, or those who play with face-down monsters. I could use Light of Intervention, but that wouldn't make it any nicer for me.

How would a Zombie Deck Destruction sound? Soul-Absorbing Bone Tower, Book of Life, Malice Ascendant, Vampire Lady, Robbin' Zombie, Chain Destruction, Gravekeeper's Servant? Added to the basic staples of a Deck Destruction, of course.

I really like the card Ameba, though, I've tried to make an Ameba deck and it just doesn't work ;)

Edit - How does this look?

I like the overall idea.

I also like Gravekeeper's Servant for this. Especially if you run more than one, it can really add up and be incredibly annoying. I think it might be a good idea to protect you Malice Ascendants a little since Bone Tower protects itself. Heart of Clear Water comes to mind, but other stall might work just as well and combo with other cards better.

I just realized that there's a person inside Ameba. Poor him.
I never noticed that. It does look like somebody is in there. I would love to see your Ameba deck. I took a swing at one but don't have enough support cards, yet. It is still waiting to be worked on. Whole lot of Creature Swapping and Chien's Spy action.

Well it must be your lucky day, I actually have an Ameba deck that runs good enough that I believe with a few adjustments could be a regional worthy deck(I may run this sunday after the SJC just for the heck of it). Without further ado here it is for your wonderment.

PM John Danker, if you can. He has an Ameba deck among his case of decks with which he occasionally plays.

As for the Zombie deck you posted, I dont think that today's game will be too forgiving of Vampire Lord's 2000 ATK. At least 1 Ryu Kokki would help to provide a stable high powered monster for you to defend your field.

Malice Ascendant is very difficult to use. I have tried, but I find that Needle Worm is superior, even if it doesnt synergize with the Bone Tower.

Hmm... Malice Ascendant is very hard to use. I haven't gotten it to work yet. And you're right. Vampire Lord is pretty weak. Though, I definately need more ways to retrieve Bone Tower and some more stalling cards so they won't kill my weaker monsters (Thinking of replacing Gravity Bind and Level Limit - B with Messenger of Peace).

Also, needs Dust Tornado or other spell / trap destruction cards because I can't get rid of pesky things like Clock Tower Prison and Cyclone Blade.

I would recommend supllementing Gravity Bind and Level Limit with Messenger of Peace, as opposed to replacing them. Extra stall is probably what you need, rather then different stall. The cards work well on their own, but sometimes the optionality of having them in tandem gives you a more powerful defense then they would alone. In the defense playing, there's no such thing as overkill.
