But I just gotta know:
the new "mini-Jinzo's", with this lovely effect:
When this card is Normal Summoned successfully, no Trap Cards can be activated.
How does it actually work? I'm very confused by the Netrep rulings text for Tactical Espionage Expert:
# This is a Continuous Effect that you cannot chain to.

# The effect of this monster is applied to both players (so you cannot activate "Pineapple Blast" in response to your Normal Summon of this monster).

# You can activate Trap Cards later in the turn.

# The effect of this monster prevents the activation of Trap Cards that can be activated when a monster is Normal Summoned, such as "Trap Hole" and "Torrential Tribute".

#1 says the effect is Continous, yet #3 says you (being the card controller) can activate Traps later in the same turn.
So, is this monster a mini-Jinzo equipped with Amplifier, or what?
Or is it just that both players cannot activate a Trap when he's Normal Summoned, but can later on Ring it? :bishop:

I just need some clarification, that's all.

1. The ruling on where it states his monster effect is a Continuous Effect, it only refering to the time when this card is successfully Normal Summoned. At this point, "no Trap Cards may be activated" It isn't really a Continuous Effect since it doesn't state, "As long as this card remains face up on the field...."

2. Since the monster was successfully Normal Summoned, the effect is applied immediately since activation timing is correct, so no Traps Cards may be activated in response to the summoned monster.

3. You can't activate cards such as "Trap Hole" or "Torrential Tribute" since the effect of this monster being successfully Normal Summoned immediately gets applied.

4. It isn't a Jinzo equipped with Amplifier or like Jinzo as much. It doesn't state, "As long as this card remains face up on the field...." so Trap Cards may be activated later on during the turn.

Yea... since it isn't really a Continuous Effect.

To make this easy if my clarification seems strange, read the below statements:

1. It is not a Continuous Effect since it doesn't state, "As long as this card remains face up on the field...."

2. The ONLY TIME this effect is applied is when it is "successfuly Normal Summoned" as the text states on the card. Thats why Trap Cards can be activated during a later time during the turn of a duel.

It is considered a "continous" effect for purposes of whether or not you can chain to the effect (so you can't) unlike a monster like "Breaker the Magical Warrior" (which you can chain to that).

Now, that "continous" effect lasts for as long as this state remains: "Monster was successfully Normal Summonned". As soon as the turn player decides to do something else that isn't in response to the summon, trap cards can be activated again by both players. Even stating that you're going to the battle phase ends the effect and the other person can activate a trap before the Main Phase ends (even "Ring of Destruction").

The usefulness of the card is far too situational and limited.
