Sorry probably silly questions

1.When you use pyramid turtle effect to special summon a card can it be summoned in defence mode?

2.Also if you use Maurading Captains effect can you summon a level 4 in face-up defence mode?

3. What effects will Dark Ruler Ha Des stop, giant tomatos/ magician of faith/man eater bug/peten the dark clown?

1 A special summon by definition (unless otherwise specified on the card) is face up defense or attack position.

2 (See 1)

3 Dark Ruler Ha Des will negate the effect of any monster it destroys So, it will negate all of the effects of the monsters you've named provided it destroys them in battle.
