A couple of questions

1. Can I activate Strike Ninja's effect when my opponent declares an attack on on my face up Strike Ninja before we enter the damage step?

2. Can I activate Strike Ninja's effect when my Strike Ninja gets flipped up when my opponent attacks my face down Strike Ninja?

A couple of questions

1. Can I activate Strike Ninja's effect when my opponent declares an attack on on my face up Strike Ninja before we enter the damage step?

You most definitely can. THis will cause a replay and your opponent can choose a different target.

2. Can I activate Strike Ninja's effect when my Strike Ninja gets flipped up when my opponent attacks my face down Strike Ninja?

Negative. Strike Ninja's effect cvan't be activated in the damage step.

1. As long as the attack does not proceed to the Damage Step, you may activate Strike Ninja's effect. It would be the same as if you used "Interdimensional Matter Transporter" to remove him from play.

2. Once the attack has been declared and Strike Ninja is flipped face-up from attack, the Damage Step is entered and Strike Ninja can no longer use his effect to remove himself from play unless he, a) survives the attack, or b) you manage to activate an effect that reduces the attacking monsters attack to a number "less than" Strike Ninja'a defense.

In that case, he again would survive and if there were any additional monster eligible to attack, now that Strike Ninja is face-up, you could remove two dark from your Graveyard to activate his effect.
