i'm wondering about making a deck that focuses on the Yata-Lock using the effects of Mystical Knight of Jackal (maybe also a Mystic Swordsman LV6?). Can you help me please? ^^U

Here's a sort of deck list:

1 Cyber Dragon
1 Mystic Swordsman LV6
2 Mystical Knight of Jackal

2 Kaiser Seahorse (?)
3 Nimble Momonga
2 Enraged Battle Ox
2 Mystic Swordsman LV4
2 Mystic Swordsman LV2
+ the same stuff i guess u_u (Sangan, exiled, d.d. w.l., reaper, lily, and so on...)

2 Level Up!
2 Lighten the Load
2 Reinforcement of the Army
+ staples (premature, storm, nobleman, typhoon, snatch, brain, Scapegoat, etc)

2 Waboku (to protect those seahorses)
2 A Hero Emerges ?

maybe also a phoenix of nephtys?

yeah with yata-lock i didn't mean a REAL yata-lock but the thing is quite similar: i have the knight, he has a monster, i kill the monster (oh...i need some Flamberges) and he will draw that monster during his next draw phase. now he has two choices: a. sets another monster b. takes damage directly till he draws something that may kill my monster (oh...something like My Body as a Shield would be quite useful)

PS: a friend of mine suggested also to hand-control a bit (maybe with a robbin goblin) so that the opponent cannot smash or vortex or stuff :p

Oh, I see. A Yata-Lock-esque type deck. ;)

My first thoughts would be to agree with your friend. I think the control route is the way to go with Mystical Knight of Jackal. The first thing I would try to get my hands on are some Spirit Reapers, not just for the control aspect but largely for the defensiveness. And yes, Robbin goblin and robbin zombie are a good start depending on what you want to do.

Those are just my intial thoughts though. I'll let some others chime in here with their thoughts.

yes ^^ Yata-Lock-esque can be a good name. I decided to use only the Jackal because the Mystic Swordsmen take me a lot of slots.
Do you mean your only bouncer is going to be the Jackal? No Penguin Soldier or Wall of Illusion? Won't that reduce your options and chance of getting him into the game?

Also, don't the Jars kind of work against the premise of your deck? If you are getting your opponent locked down, then the Jars are just dead draws since you don't want to play them and let him out of the lock.

I like the idea. I have started a bounce deck a couple of times, but it always ends up morphing into something else. Good luck, it looks like fun.

Since your deck's purpose is soft-lock on ur opponent, isn't it? If so, then maybe u can check my deck for some suggestion cards.
