When TER and Stumbling is on the field, what happens to newly summoned monsters?

Does TER lock the monsters? Or does TER's effect only refer to manual change? Will the newly monsters be change to defense?

"TER" is only referring to manual position changes. Any monster summoned while both "TER" and "Stumbling" are on the field will still change to Defense position after they are summoned.

Thanks. I had to become a member here =P

Because I'm very serious duelist, I always have a bit of advanced questions about the game.

But always check with RONIN before I ask a question.

Well, we DEFINITELY welcome the harder questions that aren't found on any of the 'usual' areas of rulings. We quite often get into some serious debates about how things work, or should work, so I think you'll enjoy our little community quite well.

And you've already started off on the right foot by using Ronin, so I think you'll fit in quite nicely!...lol.

This is another fine example of rulings that just don't exist through the official channels. Personally, I didn't know that TER only affected manual position changes, and it took some digging to determine that you are indeed correct (as you so often are) skey23:

The people I've dueled with don't know this either, as all of us have played TER at some point, and it's always just been assumed that things like Stumbling / Book of Moon / etc. simply don't work when TER is on the field. (Or in the case of Book of Moon, the only card you could legally target was TER).

The wording on TER has changed at least once, if not twice, and it could STILL be better. Unbelievable. How on Earth are new players supposed to know these things if they're not published, anyway? Wait until their first tourney and learn the hard way? Not cool, not cool at all.

Thank goodness people like skey23 are out here to make this game worth playing :D

I thank you for your kind words. I'm just here to help as best I can. I was one of the players that just got tired of not knowing how something worked and decided to go figure it out for myself and ended up here! I'm soooo glad I did too. The people here are the best!

Oh quick question while this is here one time:

When TER is summoned, can the turn player use their priority on the summoned TER and absorb one monster on the opponent's side of the field upon summoning, or can the opponent can chain a trap card to not allow the TER to absorb one of their monsters?

TER can activate its effect (chain link 1) then you can chain, TER has to remain face up on the field for its effect to resolve successfully and absorb a monster.

It's a hidden rule. You can't stop effect changes.
