OKay everybody has noticed ive been putting up archtypes well i dont have to be the only one and to make things go alot smother this will be the Index for all the Archtypes that get build and put up to help thouse in need.

Control: [ Any form of control, Hand, Field, Deck, Etc...]
http://Uria ControlUria Control
http://Mother May I...Mother May I...

Combo:[ This + That + This = GG]

Stall:[ Stall for Win condition]

OTK: [ Deck must win in One Turn basically a nice big chunk drop]
Batteryman AA
FTK: [ Deck Must be a First Turn Only to fit this criteria]

Tribal: [ Must only contain a certain type only]

Character Themes: [ TV Themed Decks]

well they are decks, just instead of having 1 billion of the same deck you can just use the index to find said deck and compare differences between builds with out the hastle of making 20 billion threads. :)

the deck garage you wouldnt be able to post your builds hence forth why this is here :)

If you have an Archtype you can go a head and use the [Archtype] tag and make the thread and then ill link it up here. :)

So, instead of getting individual help on your decks, you're just told what's good and what isn't?

What goes in one deck and what goes in another?

Sounds like a preanswered Deck Garage question. :p

your not told what is good and what isnt, your told what cards are mostly used in said deck.

Deck garage is just that you send in your deck they help you with it and give out an explanation of what came in and what came out and so forth.

An Archtype is much different. See in an Archtype you basically get information on a deck type, how it works and what cards are usually seen in them and the different builds people have. Its all the same deck but its different aspects of making the deck.

So no this isnt a preanswered Deck Garage its just an Archtype.

Its your choice what archtype you want to play.

You want to play Warriors why trow in Spellcasters?

Want to play a uria deck why trow in Treeborn Frog?

This isnt the thread were you posts builds this is were you post links to archtypes :D

I still don't see why these are appropriate. But so be it.

Their appropriete for people that dont want to post their decks but wish to see what is out there without going to a tournament.

everybody plays the same old CC but why do people come and ask for help?

becuase they need to make their CC build a bit better, what do we do. we get somebody like you that knows the CC build, make an Archtype thread and then when said person comes over they go and say, Hey i need to make my deck better but i have no clue what cards could work in it.

so they see your thread and be like, Hey thats a nice source of information they then go and fix their deck to what they feel would be potential for them and eventually do a bit better in tournaments.

this is much better over the, They make a deck and never get a responce.

You should know how it is to make a thread with a build and never get a responce. Wouldnt you have liked if more people just posted instead of left it a blank, in this case you can just view the archtype and see how the few builds on it are different from yours and how good or bad they are to yours.

Hey krazykidpsx, I think this is a great idea. I think people are getting confused with the word ArchType and I think I'm still struggling with the idea myself.

Would a better idea be to call them Templates? For instance, in a Ritual Deck template, you most likely are running 3 Manju of Ten Thousand Hands and potentially a Fulfillment of the Contact for an extra revival card.

From there you could also list some combos for the Template/ArchType. For instance, I've had it recommended to me as of late to use Compulsory Evacuation Device in conjunction with my Manju's because it allows for a double use of a single Manju.

Then from there you can see how people have built their Ritual Decks. Sure some will be using the items mentioned above, and some may not, but that's the point you're making, these are templates or bases to get an idea of what to start with. From there you tweak out to your own personal dueling styles and objectives with the deck.

Is this the idea?

Dillie-O mentioned that you had this idea going on and we decided it was an excellent idea. We are using what we call "blueprints" to map an outline of how different cards go in together.

With that in mind, I wanted to pick your brain. I am working on a format that would be similar to..say, card reviews. You are welcome to use it, if it has merit, or please, throw out suggestions that you think might improve it.

Bear in mind that what I am doing is with various Fiend decks in mind:

Blueprint:
(example: Archfiend)

Deck's Goal/Aim:

Strengths:

Weaknesses:
__________________________________________________________________
*(the following cards/effects are not requirements, but generalized options usually found in the blueprint)
Monsters:

Spells:

Traps:

Combos:
*(every combo is not necessary, but just a sampling)

other:
*(sample decks, links to individual card reviews, ect)
Its similar to how someone might outline an article or card review. What Im gathering from your Archtype concept is that its trying to identify similarities between different kinds of Control decks; RFP decks, Warrior Decks, OTK deck; ect ect ect

Its been almost 4 years since then, but yep squid, thats the point. You pretty much review a deck "Templete/archtype" and then post other variations of the exact deck.

like in Dill's Ritual example, I would use Manju, but lets say I go trapless because i feel a all spell version of it is better. I Would post the cards used in the deck, why they are used in the deck and what is the Finisher in the deck.

like the old school Chaos Yata decks.

The finisher was Chaos Dragon into a Yata Lock. But the bulk of the list was made up of Feather dusters, swords, imperial decree, etc.. etc.. BUT some builds didnt use Chaos Soldier while others did.

The point is you take the deck, you look at the cards used in it and what makes up the entire 40 card slot. You post it up. other people post their builds of it, or look at the builds already posted and do an analysis of the decks.

for example, in a CED Yata deck.

Some builds used Jinzo. Other builds didnt. that means on average based on how many decks are posted say there are 10 50% of them used Jinzo. BUT the ones that used jinzo didnt use as many traps. that means that the average is .5 in other words 0 or 1 jinzo in the deck. CED was used in all 10 so that means that in your build you should strive to play the same amount. :D

hopefully this helps. Im not fully back into this game, i just would like to play with my wife or brother from time to time. Im working at desining a card game at the moment so i really dont have A lot of money to spend. but yes to make things easier an index of deck types would be great. :D

well aslong as somebody you know puts the time and effort.
