The Card Registery says:

[Re: The End of Anubis] "The End of Anubis" WILL negate the effects of "Night Assailant" (its second effect), "Aswan Apparition", "Nubian Guard", "Sangan", "Witch of the Black Forest" (even if Tributed to Tribute Summon "The End of Anubis"), "Mystic Tomato"/"Giant Rat"/etc., "Sinister Serpent", "Magician of Faith", "Dark Magician of Chaos"' spell retrieval effect, "Vampire Lord"'s ability to return from the Graveyard, "Dark Necrofear"'s ability to return from the Graveyard, and activation of "Call of the Haunted" or "Premature Burial".

Hello,

A Question, what's the correct answer to the script of;

Player A has a Magician of Faith + Torrential Tribute both facedown
Player B has a End of Anubis Face up,

Player A Flips in his turn his Magician of Faith, Player B doesn't wish to
chain, so Player A activates his Torrential Tribute and saying Magician of
Faith's effect will still resolve..

Whats the correct answer to Magician of Faith's effect ? For my opinion it's
still negated.

Thx in advance,

Mobywan ^_^

Answer:

"Magician of Faith's" effect did not activate in the Graveyard. In fact, it
won't even be in the Graveyard until the chain resolves.

Thus "The End of Anubis" will not negate it.

I get confused by this I think it will negate Magician of Faith's effect won't it ?

K... he used the wrong words... LOL. But which effect resolves faster: the 'searching' by MoF or TT? If it is TT, then End of Anubis is away at the time MoF resolves.
BTW: I agree with Duelmaster and Skey that Curtis is wrong, just want to make a nice topic :)

Since there isnt any auto-linking happening for The End of Anubis in the above posts, I thought I would provide the text so everyone is crystal, and on the same page

End of Anubis
While this card is face-up on the field, all effects of Spell, Trap, and Monster Cards that target a card(s) in the Graveyard or that activate in the Graveyard are negated.

Poor Curtis seemed to forget that MoF is legally negated by EoA (under normal circumstances) because it targets a Spell card in the Graveyard.

However, becuase of the chain involving Torrential Tribute, EoA will not be on the field to negate when Magician of Faith's effect resolves.

Is that what the confusion is about?

Good point. Torrential resolves first. So how could The End of Anubis possibly negate Magician of Faith? It can't. Curtis answer is confusuing to be sure, but it is still correct.

to quote the ruling on Magician of Faith:
[Re: Disappear] When a card that selects a card in the Graveyard as a target, such as "Monster Reborn", "Mask of Darkness", "Magician of Faith", "Spear Cretin", or "The Shallow Grave", is activated, you may chain "Disappear" to remove the targeted card from play, and the "Monster Reborn", etc., will resolve without effect. This is because these cards select their target at activation, not resolution

So I would have to revise my answer to say that, yes pssvr is correct. I thought (when I typed it) that it sounded funny that MoF would target a Spell but not get negated in a chain.

my mistake.

Ahh yes, such is the consequences of activation vs. resolution of effects. As chaosruler is saying, EoA doesn't prevent the activation of cards targeting the graveyard, it simply negates them when it comes to resolving them.

That's why you can chain your own Call of the Haunted to your opponents Call and "beat them to the punch" pulling your EoA out to negate the resolution of the monster being revived.

Actually, I believe you're saying I'm only 50% wrong, sir. If I've interpreted you correctly, you're saying EoA CAN negate MoF if there is no torrential, but CAN'T if there is. Am I right?
