They messed Osiris up in the manga!!

Anyone else get the new issue of Jump? They total messed up Osiris in the manga now by calling him Slifer just like in the freaking anime!!

BTW, when do we get the flashback to the creation of the Millennium Items in the manga? In the anime, it happened before Atem chased after Bakura.
 
In case no one has ever noticed this before, Slifer is a cooler sounding name than Osiris. Which doesn't make it right, but it also means they didn't "screw up".

Actually, if you pay close attention, they frequently have the characters use the TCG/Anime names for the cards when speaking. This is quite rampant in the Duelist Kingdom saga. However, they also generally (but not always) use the original names on the cards as well as the little "stat panels".

Pick up any of the "Duelist" series of SJ Graphic Novels next time you're in a book store, and check it out.

(If I remember right, they even have Mai say "Harpie" out loud, whereas the card itself says "Harpy". "Harpy" being the proper way to spell that creature's name, of course)
 
Actually, they don't know what they want the card names to be in the manga. Did you read Duelist volume 8? Yugi says, "His Toon Demon, I mean Toon Summoned Skull..." Plus they kept changing Elven Swordsman and Black Magician to several different names on the same freaking page.

However, the God cards SHOULD BE THEIR PROPER NAMES!!

pssvr, I have to disagree with your comment as Slifer is NOT the name of a god in Egypt. If they wanted to change his name, they should have made him something Egyptian. Heck, they messed up ALL of the characters with Egyptian names (Malik being Marik instead, Isis being the name of the friggin car company, etc). Nonetheless, I hope Slifer meets Osiris when he dies, I bet Osiris is going to have loads to discuss with his dumb behind. :p

BTW, personally, I think Obelisk and Osiris should have had their names switched since Obelisk looks more like the descriptions and pics of Osiris while Osiris is a long dragon, matching what an obelisk is better.

No you're wrong; "Go My Slifer The Sky Dragon!" sounds nothing even remotely better than, "Ike Osiris No Tenkuu Ryu!"

dr. kain could please change the line were you use the word "dumb and ass" together, please, Foul language isnt allowed on the board of any kind.

and for being on topic, It is now common to see viz change all their characters to the 4kids names.

this also started with One Piece when it aired on TV.

Roronoa Zoro got changed to Roronoa Zolo. for ovious reasons, but as we all know Zoro or Fox(spanish) is just way better.

as is Isis than Ishizu, which just creeps me up inside. no really it does.

but amazingly enough, they keept the names for the "golden age" in the anime.

today I heard one of the priest refer to Ishizu's ancestor as Isis, which is just so hot sounding. ::dreams of isis:: lol

that should be a show, I dream of Isis*

I changed my dumb and ass thing to dumb behind. I didn't know this board was that strict (it's worse than Toonzone). Oh well, I can understand why.
 
We might have minors among us so paranoia is ever rampant. In the real world people fear being visited by aliens, here we fear a thread with dodgy adult vocabulary and discussion being visited by a minor.:)
Thank dog for being able to have adult discussions and such with co-workers... I think... :confused:
