Toons and Tokens

There was a ruling I read here (though since I can't find it anymore I don't know if it's still valid) that tokens on your opponent's side of the field could be used as tribute to summon Lava Golem. I presume this included Scapegoat tokens because Lava Golem (despite the appearances) is not being Tribute Summoned (which is in effect a normal summon) but is being Special Summoned instead.

If that's the case, then would the same not hold true for the higher level Toon Monsters (Toon Summoned Skull, Blue Eyes Toon Dragon and Manga Ryu Ran). Assuming I didn't just activate Scapegoat this turn, would not 1 or 2 of those tokens be usable as a tribute for the toons since they are being Special Summoned and not normal (tribute) summoned?

Umm yes you can offer Sheep Tokens to summon high level Toons.

Sheep Tokens can be used as a tribute in a Special Summon. :|

Yes, you may. Toon monsters are not considered to be Tribute Summoned. They are Special Summoned. Tokens generated as a result of Scapegoat's effect cannot be used as tribute for a TRIBUTE SUMMON. They are perfectly OK for a Special Summon, if it requires tributes, which the Toons do. =_=

You still have to Tribute for high-level Toon Monsters (1 Tribute for "Toon Summoned Skull", 2 Tributes for "Blue-Eyes Toon Dragon", etc.). Because this is a Special Summon, you can Summon multiple Toon Monsters on the same turn.

BTW, you may offer sheep tokens for a special summon.

You can not however offer them for a "Tribute Summon".

I was mainly posting to reiterate what you both said anyways. Aqua is a kid I met online about a week or so ago and he seems to come to me now for all his rulings, he hadn't asked me about Toon monsters and tokens yet, but I went ahead and IMed him saying that you guys were right and then posted in here to just back it up.

He's a nice kid, just needs a little guidence sometimes, heh.
