Total Field Control Deck?

After reading those topics, an idea went through my head: is there no way to combine both? A deck that would run with Anti-Spell Fragrance, mass destruction cards, Ground Collapse+Ojama Trio, Confiscation and simultaneously cards like NSpacian Air Hummingbird, Fire Princess aso. A deck which would combine the best elements of a Field Control and a Burn Deck.

Maybe I'm just dreaming, and I haven't got any fixe ideas so far, but if you could help me build this deck, I'd be quite grateful :)
 
In all actuality, a burn deck sorta wants to control the field anyway, so it's not too far of a stretch. I'm thinking you could do something with Fire Princess and Hummingbird as your focus monsters, use Ground Collapse to limit your opponent's options, limit them further with Ojama Trio and Anti-Spell Fragrance, and burn them with things like Des Koala, Secret Barrel, etc.

Let us know what you come up with. It's an interesting thought.
 
Okay, I made up my mind about this deck.

Instead of controlling the field with lots of trap&spell cards, I would rather try to control it by guessing what my foe is going to play. The main aim of this deck will be to kill with Wave-Motion Cannon, which shouldn't be that difficult because of the Breaker ban. So basically:

? Mausoleum of the Emperor [as I know what he holds, I should make a better use of it (but then I should play more Tribute Monsters perhaps)]

The real problem is there are way too many cards, and I still dunno if this "psychopath Deck" will really work. Maybe I could add some more Beat Down Cards like Drop Off, but I'm afraid then my deck would definitely get too heavy. Moreover, I wonder if Counter Trap cards will really be useful, and then again which one should I choose <_>?

As basically, my Monarchs cannot attack, I also thought about adding some Neo-Spacian Aqua Dolphin, which give my another opportunity to look at my foe's hand. On the other hand, if he wants to attack me, he'll have to destroy Messenger of Peace, so they'll get useful again. Hehe.

Ah yeah, another point, I think I should definitely add some Smashing Grounds and other card to watch his hand quietly.

Any thoughts, ideas, dreams you want to break?


EDIT: Minus Snatch Steal, would make my Wave-Motion useless.
 
Well, I can help on a couple....If you are going Advanced Format, as of 3/1/07 Giant trunade and Grand Mole are limited to 1, that should help fill in those quantities. Also, don't under estimate Snatch Steal, you can use it to steal an opponent's Monster for Tribute and him not receive ANY LP increase.

Do you mean Raging Flame Sprite?? 100 attack, attacks opponent's LP directly and gets 1000 ATK for each successful??

As for Deck Devistation Virus...you don't have any 2000+ Dark Monsters to Tribute for its effect:
Deck Devastation Virus
Normal Trap
Tribute 1 DARK monster with 2000 or more ATK. Check all monsters on your opponent's side of the field, your opponent's hand, and all cards they draw (until the end of your opponent's 3rd turn after this card's activation), and destroy all monsters with 1500 or less ATK.

The ? doesn't mean that I dunno how many I should play, but just that I don't know IF I should play them.

Dark Devastation Virus yeah, I think I'll have to swap it with Crush Card; except Giant Orc, which I cannot special summon effeciently, I won't be able to play a DARK monster with ATK 2000+.

Snatch Steal is powerful ok, but I still think it's a bad choice. I've got to kill him fast, and even I don't think I'll need to steal his monsters anyway, as he won't have anyone ;)

Masoleum will be counterproductive to what you have so far in your build, as you will not be Tribute Summoning with it, so you will not get your Monarch's effects. So ditch that one.

Have you considered Bad Reaction to Simouchi? Then you could not only use the Snatch Steal, but also use:

The Eye of Truth
Continuous Trap
As long as this card remains face-up on the field, your opponent must show his/her hand. Your opponent increases his/her Life Points by 1000 points during each of his/her Standby Phases if he/she has a Spell Card in his/her hand.

I've seen it in a couple of straight Burn decks and it seems to work well.

Oh, down side to Giant Germ is that the new ones come back in ATK mode. Plus they only do 500 damage. How about Mecha-Dog Marron? With a couple of Des Wombats, you could make a killing! Ooh, for that matter, it would work great with:

Normal Trap
Both players toss a coin once. If a player's result is Heads, they gain 2000 Life Points, and if their result is Tails, they take 2000 damage.
 
Right, missed this one, Mausoleum is totally useless.

Eye of Truth MIGHT work, but it'll be harsch if I don't come to play Bad Reaction to Simoichi. Moreover, it'd take more space away, so what's your advice? Sth like one of each, 1-2 Cat of Ill Omen and perhaps a Mask of Darkness? Maybe just Solemn Judgement or Magic Drain will do to protect them, as there aren't that many Spell&Trap destroyer cards

I chose Giant Germ because I can sacrifice it for the Crush Card, and 500LP sometimes bring you a win. If I run Messenger of Peace, the result will be equal anyway.

I'm still thinking about about Eye of Truth; I like the idea since my D.D. Designator will hurt my foe a lot, but then I must play Bad Reaction to Simoichi, which could reduce the speed of my deck.

Oh anyway, I'll try it out with Bad Reaction, the idea sounds good. Although... then I should maybe focus my deck on this card <_>
